Kanpur, Sep 26 (PTI) India cricket captain Virat Kohli on Monday offered his condolences to the families of the victims of the Uri terrorist attack, saying such cowardly acts are “disturbing” and “hurts” every citizen of the country. “When these big incidents happen regularly, it feels bad. When we feel bad about it, just think of the families of the soldiers. It’s something very disturbing,” Kohli said when asked to react on the recent terror strike on Indian soil. “I can react on this but can’t comment on solution because I am not operating at that level. As an Indian it hurts. I can only pay my condolences to the families of the jawans, who suffered in these incidents,” he said after India crushed New Zealand by 197 runs to take a 1-0 in the three-Test series.Eighteen Indian soldiers were killed and several others injured when heavily-armed militants stormed a battalion headquarters of the Indian Army in North Kashmir’s Uri town last Sunday. Four militants involved in the terror strike were later killed by the Army.

Earlier, Kohli spoke on the match, as he said, “One of the most important things in Test cricket is to have a strong lower-order who can contribute and this is one area we are working hard with the bowlers, everyone from Ashwin onwards wants to contribute and that puts a psychological dent on the opposition,” Kohli said in the post-match presentation. “They think they can get you out for 300 but you end up getting 340-360 and thus the momentum shifts from the opposition. We have improved in this area and we need to keep working on it because those 40-50 runs will be crucial when we play abroad.”
