Pakistan’s leg-spin bowler Yasir Shah has undoubtedly been their best player so far in the first Test at Lord’s against England. The spinner has already broken some records after his brilliant performance when Pakistan came to bowl after their first innings total of 339. He became the first leg-spinner in 20 years to take a five-for at Lord’s. The last time a leg-spinner picked a 5-for at Lord’s was his countryman and former great Mushtaq Ahmed. On Day 3, when Shah, came on to bowl he made it 6 for 72, to become just the fifth leg-spinner to take six wickets in a Test innings at Lord’s. He was the first leg-spinner to achieve the feat in 83 years. LIVE CRICKET SCORECARD: England  vs  Pakistan , 1st Test match at Lord’s

Joe Root’s wicket was the first for Yasir. Root tried to play a slog sweep off him and ended up top-edging the ball safely into the hands of Mohammad Hafeez on the leg side. James Vince and Gary Ballance followed soon after, both trapped leg before. Vince tried to flick Yasir but ended up missing the ball which was a bit flat and went straight on without any spin to it. Ballance was troubled by Yasir as he was also trapped in front for a simple lbw shout.

The fourth wicket Yasir picked up was Jonathan Bairstow who looked good in his 44-ball stay. Bairstow was brilliantly cleaned up by Yasir as he deceived him with flight and loop. His fifth wicket was Moeen Ali, who di not look comfortable at all. The ball spun back in and would have struck Ali outside the line, during his dismissal. With this Yasir also completed his first ever 5-for outside Asia. Steven Finn became his sixth wicket as he achieved a unique record.
