Karnataka‘s Vinay Kumar ensured his 100th First-Class game for Karnataka was a memorable one. Putting Mumbai to bat in the quarter-final of Ranji Trophy 2017-18, Vinay punished the opponent with a hat-trick. Prithvi Shaw, who has scored three centuries in this edition of Ranji Trophy, was the first victim of Vinay. The ball nicked and Karun Nair caught it comfortably in the first slip. This came off the last ball of Vinay’s first over. The second wicket also took place in a similar fashion, in the first ball of Vinay’s next over and the third of the match: this time Jay Bista was the target. Mumbai were tattering at 7 for 2. Vinay continued to lead the bowling attack from the front and trapped Akash Parkar for a golden duck, thereby getting his hat-trick.
