With a splendid performance in the recent One-Day International (ODI) series, India’s Virat Kohli has moved up the ICC Rankings for ODI batsmen. Kohli smashed an unbeaten 139 against Sri Lanka in the fifth ODI to lead his side to a 5-0 victory in the series. During the series, he scored two fifties and a century. This has taken him to the second spot in the rankings. AB de Villiers holds on to the top spot.
Kohli stands second with 863 rating points, with de Villiers leading the charts with 887. India’s Shikhar Dhawan is in fifth spot with 77 rating points. The other Indian in the top ten is skipper MS Dhoni, who has 738 rating points. Rohit Sharma made rapid strides in the table and is now on the 15th spot. His 264-run innings in the fourth ODI propelled him forward by 18 places.
In the bowler’s rankings, Saeed Ajmal and Sunil Narine lead the list. Bhuvneshwar Kumar (eighth) and Ravindra Jadeja (10th) are the only Indians in the top 10. Umesh Yadav has moved to the 40th spot and Akshar Patel is on 71.
