In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2014 played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kings XI Punjab, after winning the toss, Punjab made a good start to their innings. It was Virender Sehwag, swashbuckling opener who started the boundary count with a flick shot. He was at his best when he smashed Albie Morkel for a boundary. It was a trademark square cut from Sehwag. He also thwacked Harshal Patel over Mid off for a boundary. His young partner, Mandeep Singh wasn’t to be left behind, as he too played a fine shot or two off Mitchell Starc, the left-arm swing bowler from Australia. On the other hand, Bangalore’s bowlers, especially, Starc struggled to get his line right. Albie Morkel, the all-rounder bowled a touch better by bringing the ball back into the right-handed batsmen in the opposition ranks. The fast bowler, Varun Aaron and Harshal too struggled with their lines and lengths and were a touch wayward. Finally, though, they got the wicket of Mandeep; dismissed by Harshal. Bangalore’s fielding though, was good during the first six overs of the game. Catch Live Blog of the IPL 2014 match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kings XI Punjab.
