Sehwag to lead Rest of India in Irani Cup; Pujara excluded

Discarded India opener Virender Sehwag will lead the Rest of India in the Irani Cup against Mumbai, Ranji Trophy 2012-13 winners, at the Wankhede Stadium, starting from February 6-February 10, 2013.
 
Cheteshwar Pujara, who was the Rest of India captain last year, has been excluded from the team. In the list that was announced in bcci.tv, Pujara’s name doesn’t appear in the India A squad either that will play against Australia, in a three day match at Chennai.
 
The All-India Senior Selection Committee met at Bangalore on Tuesday to select the squad for the Irani Cup match.
 
On Monday, Mumbai lifted their 40th Ranji Trophy title after skipper Ajit Agarkar and Dhawal Kulkarni combined to wreck Saurashtra for an innings and 125-run victory in the five-day final that ended inside three days at the Wankhede Stadium.
 
Squad: Virender Sehwag (c), Shikhar Dhawan, Murali Vijay, Manoj Tiwary, Suresh Raina, Wriddhiman Saha (wk), Harbhajan Singh, S Sreesanth, Pragyan Ojha, Ishwar Pandey, Abhimanyu Mithun, Ambati Rayudu, Shami Ahmed, Jalaj Saxena.
