Although India A lost their first warm-up match against England by margin of 3 wickets, MS Dhoni was a happy man despite it being his last game as a captain leading an Indian side. The Brabourne Stadium was filled with more than 20,000 fans around; not for the warm-up match but it was their love for their captain cool. India’s superstar wicketkeeper-batsman Dhoni was back in blue jersey, leading a brigade after resigning as the Indian team’s limited-overs captain. Another memorable sight was the lethal pair of Yuvraj Singh and Dhoni, back in the crease. Both the players smashed swashbuckling fifties to guide India beyond 300-run mark. Post the match, both the players got together and remembered their good old batting days along recalled Dhoni’s best captaincy moments.

Yuvraj posted a rather emotional selfie video that brought back various memories shared between the duo. From the World T20 win in 2007 to the World Cup win in 2011, they shared memories aplenty. The two have brought immense success to India not only during World Cup but also with their finishing touches in most of the matches. Be it in 2011 when Dhoni and Yuvraj finished the game in style hence winning the 50-over World Cup after 28 years or their many century partnerships against Pakistan, Australia and other teams. It was Dhoni’s first assignment as captain when Yuvraj smashed those six sixes in an over in the inaugural World T20 in 2007. Dhoni was at the other end. It was Yuvraj who architected both those World Cup wins for India.

The emotional tangent was more prominent after the Yograj Singh incident during ICC World Cup 2015 where Yuvraj was omitted from the tournament. His father Yograj had blasted Dhoni cursing him to be ‘penniless’ in the future. When Yuvraj was back in the limited-overs cricket, Yograj criticised Dhoni for under-bowling him. Yuvraj always maintained distance from his father’s comments and even invited Dhoni for his wedding. In fact, their camaraderie has been well witnessed on the playing greens as well.

Now that Dhoni has resigned from his captaincy and Yuvraj has made a thrilling comeback in the limited-overs cricket, it is assured that Yograj has nothing to complain. After this video, Yograj may want to go into hiding, finding a safe haven from the social media trolls.
