Persistent rain has meant that the play has been called off for the day with New Zealand’s score still reading as 331 for 7. We will join the live action on Monday half an hour early to make up for lost time. This is Bharath Ramaraj signing off from the commentary.

New Zealand were 331 for the loss of seven as rain again stopped play. When the play resumed New Zealand lost the wicket of Tim Southee the tail-ender out to Taylor’s bowling. Williamson is still batting at the crease. The rain came down when Roach was bowling the 90th over of the game.

Kane Williamson went onto surpass his highest score. His previous highest was 135 against Sri Lanka at Colombo. He showed some delicate touch especially the dab through third man off Benn gave a glimpse of his class and timing.Roach has comeback into the attack as Winides look for a wicket. Roach finally broke the partnership when Watling played a short and wide delivery straight to the backward point fielder Holder. Roach could have got another wicket but Tim Southee was dropped. However rain has come into play and play has been stopped for now.

Kane Williamson and BJ Watling stitched a fifty partnership as Kiwis now lead by a sizeable 261 runs. New Zealand certainly have the upper-hand and they have thank Kane Williamson the centurion for it. He has yet again played with steady perfection for his country.
Shillingford bowls a loose short delivery and Williamson pulls on the front-foot to get a four towards deep square-leg. Lunch has been called for on Day Four. New Zealand lead West Indies by 236 runs.
Watling gets off the mark with a single off Benn towards cover. After Neesham’s wicket, the scoring has slowed down a bit. The four overs after Neesham’s wicket have resulted in only eight runs with a maiden as well. But Watling gets a four towards third-man to ease the tension. Shillingford bowls one wide outside off-stump and Watling cuts the ball late past Chris Gayle at slip. The duo have extended New Zealand’s lead to 219 runs after 65 overs.
Benn tosses one just outside off-stump and Neesham slogs the ball over deep mid-wicket for a six. The 200 comes up for New Zealand in the 54th over. Benn then bowls a full delivery outside off-stump and Neesham guides the ball through third-man for a four. Jason Holder has been brought into the attack. Williamson guides one from Holder in-between slip and gully for a four. Williamson cuts one from Benn towards deep cover and gets a single. He reaches his century with those runs. That is also Williamson’s seventh century in Tests. Neesham gets to his half-century with two runs off Holder towards cover with a help of a direct-hit as well. Neesham gets out the next ball as he drills a full delivery to Kraigg Brathwaite at short cover. BJ Watling is the next batsman in.
OUT! J Neesham 51(67)
Sulieman Benn also comes into the attack. His first delivery is a full and fast delivery. Neesham manages to get a bottom-edge and the ball races away for a four towards third-man. Taylor bowls one outside off-stump and Neesham hits the ball over long-on for his second six. The 50-run partnership between Williamson and Neesham comes up in the 51st over.
Neesham comes down the track and hammers a tossed up delivery from Shillingford over the sightscreen for a massive six. After a few tame overs, Williamson flicks a straight delivery from Roach through a gap at mid-wicket for a four. Jerome Taylor is then brought into the attack for the first time on the day and he bowls a maiden.
Shane Shillingford will begin proceedings on Day Four for West Indies. Kane Williamson comes down the track and lifts one over wide mid-on for the first four of the day. Kemar Roach will bowl from the other end. Williamson cuts a short and wide delivery square on the off side for a four. Roach gets the first breakthrough of the day. A good length delivery comes in and hits McCullum on the pads as he plays across the line. The umpire rules him out, but McCullum wants it reviewed. But Hawk-Eye shows that the ball would have struck leg-stump and McCullum has to depart for 25. Jimmy Neesham hits one from Shillingford towards deep mid-wicket to get off the mark.
OUT! B McCullum 25(53)

Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live blog of the fourth day’s play between the West Indies and New Zealand at Kensington Oval in Barbados. The Kiwis have a second-innings’ lead of 100 runs, but they have lost their three top-order batsmen. The West Indies will surely be aiming to go harder on the tourists on the fourth day morning.

Kane Williamson was batting on 58 as he continues to score important runs for New Zealand. Alongside him was the Kiwi captain Brendon McCullum, batting on 23 not out. The two batsmen would aim to carry on the good work for their side and not allow the West Indies bowlers to make inroads early on in the first session today.

In their reply to New Zealand’s 293, the West Indies squandered a good start as they were bowled out for 317, as they took a slender lead of 24 runs. The West Indian pacers Kemar Roach and debutant Jason Holder looked impressive on the third day evening and all eyes would certainly be pinned on them.
