(Catch live cricket score and updates of the third day’s play between the West Indies and New Zealand here)

Gayle and Benn are now bowling in tandem. Gayle manages to find the outside edge off Latham’s bat, but the ball falls short of the big Benn at first slip. Latham gets two runs as the ball goes towards third-man. And finally, stumps have been called for on Day Three. New Zealand trail West Indies by 166 runs at stumps. Well that is it from us for the day’s play. Join us again for Day Four. Hope you enjoyed our coverage. Have a great day!

The four overs after the 30th only result in three runs and two maidens. The New Zealand batsmen are playing for stumps now. Jerome Taylor bowls a slow low full-toss and Williamson hits the ball down the ground for a four.

Chris Gayle has been brought into the attack. Williamson whips one past mid-wicket for a four. That brings up New Zealand’s 50. Latham then drives a length delivery towards deep cover for a four. After those two boundaries in the 27th over, both Latham and Williamson play out three maiden overs on the trot.

Gabriel and Benn have been bowling in tandem now. Latham comes forward and pushes one from Benn through extra-cover for a four. That was a much needed boundary to get the score moving. Drinks have been taken after the 22nd over. Jerome Taylor comes back into the attack in the 24th over. Williamson guides the last delivery off the hips towards deep square-leg for two runs.

Jerome Taylor and Roach bowl till the end of the 13th over. Shannon Gabriel replaces Roach for the 14th over. He gives away only one run in his first over. Sulieman Benn then bowls the 15th over. His first delivery is driven by Williamson for a four through deep extra-cover. This particular period of play has been quite slow in terms of intensity of runs scored.

The next three overs after McCullum’s wicket result in two maidens and two runs. Jerome Taylor bowls a wide delivery and Williamson cuts the ball past gully for a four. Taylor bowls a sharp yorker and Williamson falls down playing at it. But he manages to complete a single as the ball goes towards short mid-wicket.

Welcome back for the final session on Day Three. Roach bowls the first over after tea. Latham pushes a full delivery for a four towards straight long-on. Jerome Taylor bowls a full delivery and the ball hits McCullum’s pads. The players appeal and the umpire raises his finger. McCullum asks for the review, but the decision remains. McCullum departs for three runs. Kane Williamson is the next batsman in.
OUT! B McCullum 3(17)

Kemar Roach shares the new ball with Jerome Taylor. McCullum gets off the mark with two runs towards deep extra-cover. Both Latham and McCullum play out till tea on Day Three. New Zealand still trail West Indies by 235 runs.
Tom Latham will open New Zealand’s second innings with Brendon McCullum. Jerome Taylor will bowl the first over. Latham gets off the mark on the last delivery of the first over. He gets a single towards fine-leg. McCullum has opened an innings in Test cricket on 30 occasions.

Neesham bowls a good length delivery and Ramdin drives at it. He only edges the ball to first slip, where Ross Taylor takes a excellent diving catch to his right. Jerome Taylor mishits one from Sodhi straight to Craig at long-off. That is the end of the West Indies first innings for 460 runs. They lead New Zealand by 239 runs.
OUT! D Ramdin 32(67), J Taylor 4(4)

West Indies get to their 450 in the 135th over as Blackwood takes a single behind square on the leg side. Blackwood clears his front leg and swats one from Sodhi over mid-on for a four. But Blackwood then edges a turning delivery from Sodhi next up and Ross Taylor takes the catch at first slip. Jerome Taylor is the next batsman in. He gets off the mark with a four over square-leg.
OUT! J Blackwood 63(110)

Hello, this is Shrikant Shankar taking over. I will be bringing you all the live updates till the close of play on the day. Blackwood gets to his half-century with a single off Williamson on the final delivery in the 130th over. He has got his fifty on Test debut. It has been Williamson and Neesham who have bowled in tandem for a while now. Sodhi replaces Williamson for the 134th over.

Ramdin has settled down after a blazing start post lunch. Just two coming in the last 16 balls.

DRS benefits West Indies. That one from Kane Williamson was a touch short and he went for a pull, missed it and the appeal was upheld by the umpire. The review shows the ball was missing the stumps by a whisker, decision changed.

Ramdin starts off aggressively post break. Hammers three back-to-back boundaries. The last ball of the over could’ve been hit for four as well. It was hit straight down the ground, the fielder does well to chase it down.

LUNCH: Another good session for the West Indies. They lost Chanderpaul at the stroke of lunch but the lead is now 175. Blackwood looking steady and skipper Denesh Ramdin has joined in. The lead overall is 175.

Ish Sodhi strikes with Chanderpaul’s wicket again. It was pitched way outside off stump and spun a long way back in. Chanderpaul didn’t offer a stroke and the Kiwis opted for a review. Replays showed it was crashing in to the leg-stump.
OUT! Chanderpaul lbw Sodhi 47(93)

It was vital for the Kiwis to capitalise on any inch of opportunity but they missed it when Tom Latham dropped Blackwood off Craig’s bowling when he was on 11. Blackwood tentatively played on the leg-side, and Latham was moving up and failed to pluck that low catch. Ish Sodhi has been brought on with close to half an hour for lunch. West indies have done well this morning, cautious but they have enough time at hand.

Blackwoord and Chanderpaul providing some entertainment while piling on the lead. Boult was hit for a six and a four and Mark Craig was hit for the same by Chanderpaul. The six by Chanderpaul was interesting as he came down the track and it looked like a miscued shot but landed far behind the ropes. Drinks Break. 45 runs in the 13 overs bowled in the day.

Trent Boult again. And he’s got his man immediately! Kemar Roach’s stubbornness finally ends. Roach tries to flick this without moving his feet, and ends up offering an easy chance to the man at mid wicket. Debutant Jermaine Blackwood comes to the middle now.
OUT! K Roach 6(41) c Neesham b Boult

Southee and Boult continue. Roach has looked resolute today, and Chanders in beginning to find his groove as well. Southee bowls two quiet overs in a row to Roach. Chanders gets a couple of runs here and there at the other end. Not much happening right now on the surface, but the new ball is being blunted quite effectively by this pair. Mark Craig comes on to bowl the 100th over of the innings, and Chanders greets him with a pull for four. Craig’s first match exploits seem a distant memory right now.

So we are back for the third day’s play. Tim Southee will open the bowling today. And it’s the second night watchman of this innings, Kemar Roach, on strike. Southee started well, getting the ball to move around at a decent clip. And Trenet Boult opens the bowling this morning with him. Nervy start for the Windies. Chanderpaul not looking particularly comfortable. Slow start by West Indies today. Just 11 off the first five overs.
