Dhananjaya de Silva had pulled out from the Sri Lankan squad for West Indies  after his father death. However, according to reports in ESPNcricinfo de Silva will be rejoining the squad after his father’s funeral. It is also understood that he will miss the first Test starting on June 6 as he will land on June 4. He will however be available for the second Test.

Dhananjaya’s father, Ranjan was a local politician in a suburb in Colombo. He was shot around midnight last month on May 23, a day before Silva was scheduled to fly to West Indies. Sri Lanka  are scheduled to play 3 Test match series against West Indies. The three day warm up match between West Indies Cricket Board President and Sri Lanka ended up in a draw.

De Silva has played 13 Test for Sri Lanka. He made his comeback in the team in the third test against India where he scored a unbeaten ton to save his team from an innings defeat. He also scored a century in February against Bangladesh.
