Yusuf Pathan, the Kolkata Knight Riders’ batsman, became the first player to win three titles at the Indian Premier League (IPL) when his side lifted the most recent edition at Bangalore. Pathan earlier won the tournament with Rajasthan Royals in 2008. Pathan is delighted by winning the title, second time for the Kolkata.

In an interview with IPL’s official website, Pathan said, “Obviously, it feels very good. I am feeling great and now I have been part of a trophy-winning team thrice, and each time my parents have been watching from the stands. I feel proud that I have been part three title wins and that I am part of a champion team. Champions are always part of champion teams.”

Pathan also played a good hand in the finals and smashed 36 crucial runs. However, in the end, they lost a lot of wickets and Piyush Chawla smashed it at the end to win them the game. When asked about the nerves, Pathan said, “We had full faith in Piyush Chawla that he would win us the game. He is a good cricketer and scores well in domestic cricket as well.”
