India fast bowler Shantakumaran Sreesanth, who is recovering from a toe injury, said on a social networking website on Saturday that it will be a great challenge to get back to the field.
He said: “I have started sprinting and it is going to be a great challenge to even get back to the field. I am enjoying the challenge and I know if I can be patient, I can get back to playing.”
He drew inspiration from Yuvraj Singh, who returned to playing cricket after fighting a rare germ-cell cancer.
“If Yuvi can do it despite cancer, I am sure I too can do it. He will also be my motivation,” wrote Sreesanth on Google Plus.
The 29-year-old player from Kerala has 87 wickets from 27 Test matches and 75 wickets in 53 One Day Internationals. He made his test debut in 2006 and played his first ODI in 2005.
Apart from Team India, Sreesanth played for has Kerala, and IPL teams Kings XI Punjab, Kochi Tuskers Kerala and Rajasthan Royals.
