Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh is planning to buy a whole floor in an under-construction high rise in the island city of Mumbai, according to a report.

MiD DAY reported that the all-rounder is eyeing a property measuring 16,000 square feet in a high rise in Mumbai’s prime Worli area. The total cost of the property, according to real estate sources, is estimated to go above Rs 60 crore. The tower is being constructed by Omkar Realtors.

The tower will be one of three coming up at the site in Gopal Nagar in Worli, near the city’s old passport office, and all buildings will have around 70 floors. A broker from Worli said, “It’s a huge slum rehabilitation project and whenever we show the apartments to any of the potential buyer, we refer to the property as Omkar-Worli project, since Omkar Realtors is constructing the buildings.”

The builder has set a price of nearly Rs 40,000 per sq ft, according to brokers. Sources said that Yuvraj’s mother Shabnam is negotiating with the builder. Gaurav Gupta, director of Omkar Realtors, refrained from confirming Yuvraj’s interest. “I cannot comment on whether Yuvraj is negotiating with us or not, but yes, there are a few cricketers who are in talks with us,” he said, without revealing who the other cricketers are.

However, sources told MiD DAY that two other prominent Indian fast bowlers are in talks over buying flats in the same property.
