Zimbabwe crumbled after a slow but steady start to their first Test campaign against Bangladesh at the Sher-e-Bangla stadium in Mirpur. All- rounder, Shakib Al Hasan claimed six wickets to dismiss the Zimbabweans on the first day of their opening Test campaign.
Zimbabwe were off to a slow start before lunch after winning the toss and electing to bat first, but lost two early wickets before lunch. However, they couldn’t capitalise on the good start given by opener, Sikandar Raza who scored a good knock of 51, but was dismissed and thereafter no other batsman could produce a brilliance and lost three more wickets before tea. the team totally collapsed after tea as all-rounder Shakib swung it away in the favour of Bangladesh through his brilliant spin bowling and claimed six wickets after returning to international Test cricket following a ban by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
Brief scores: Zimbabwe: 240 (S Raza 51; Shakib Al Hasan 6 for 59)
