Afghanistan won the toss and elected to field first. Zimbabwe were looking to put up a decent score. Hamilton Masakadza played a brilliant knock of 84 runs from 93 balls with nine boundaries and 2 sixes to his name. He kept on rotating the strike until he gave away his wicket to Aftab Alam in the 30th over. He was all set for a big hundred but unfortunately he missed out on one. Brendan Taylor came up with a decent knock on a difficult pitch. Sean Williams missed out on a quick fire half-century as he was removed by Sharafuddin Ashraf. Zimbabwe kept losing wickets in regular intervals and could only manage to post a total of 261 for the loss of eight wickets.
Afghanistan used seven bowlers with Dawlat Zadran and Aftab Alam picking up two wickets each. Can Afghanistan chase this total down and register their first victory of the series?
Brief scores:
Zimbabwe 261 for 8 in 50 overs (Hamilton Masakadza 84, Brendan Taylor 53; Dawlat Zadran 2 for 49, Aftab Alam 2 for 44) vs Afghanistan.
