Best strike-rates, most sixes and other batting stats from IPL 2016

The year-2016 started with some excellent batting performances by India’s star batsman Virat Kohli against Australia in their backyard and it kept on continuing. He kept his prime form going in Asia Cup 2016, followed by ICC World T20 2016 and then in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2016. This IPL season was a treat to watch, especially for Kohli fans as he was unstoppable throughout the tournament. Kohli broke all the previous records of the tournament and almost reached 1,000 run mark with four centuries at 81.08, including 38 sixes as well. Other than him, only David Warner was the one who was giving pretty tough competition to him at some stage. Warner is among that rare bunch of players who have been playing this tournament for a long time and has been scoring runs consistently. Besides Warner and Kohli, there were not many biggies around them but there were few young players who impressed with their batting.

Young batsman Krunal Pandya was among those players who showed his potential as a hard-hitting batsman. His strike rate of 191.12 is the best in the tournament among the players who have scored at least more than 200 runs. Apart from Pandya, KL Rahul also performed well beyond expectations. When Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) side was facing Chris Gayle’s poor form, it was Rahul who stood up for his team and gave good starts to his team in the absence. But soon Gayle got his form back and the Caribbean giant started hitting big sixes all over the ground. The below infographic will give you a clear picture of batsmen who performed well this season.
