Ian Chappell, born on September 26, 1943 was one of main batsmen for Australia in the 1960s and 70s. Apart from that, he was also responsible for the team's revival as he moulded it into a successful unit during his time at the helm. His two younger brothers, Greg and Trevor, also played Test cricket for Australia. Their maternal grandfather is the legendary all-round sportsman Victor Richardson.
