Afghanistan have started the 3-match T20I series against Bangladesh with a win. They comfortably defeated Bangladesh by 45 runs after posting a target of 168. Mohammad Shahzad (40) and Usman Ghani (26) gave a good start to Afghanistan by adding 62 runs to the opening wicket partnership. Quick runs from Samiullah Shenwari (36 off 18) and Shafiqulla Shafiq (24 off 8) in the end helped Afghanistan post a competitive target.

In the second innings, Mujeeb Zadran struck gold on the very first ball dismissing Tamim Iqbal  for golden duck. All Afghanistan bowlers picked up wickets with Rashid Khan and Shapoor Zadran picking 3 each. Rashid was awarded man of the match for his impressive spell of 3-0-13-3. Bangladesh were bowled out for 122 in 19 overs as Afghanistan took lead in the series.
