India have beaten South Africa by by 337 runs in the fourth Test at Delhi. Ravichandran Ashwin picked up five wickets and Umeah Yadav struck thrice to completely dismantle the South African batting line-up. AB de Villiers, Hashim Amla and Faf du Plessis offered some resistance but that was not enough to stop the Indian bowlers from getting the wickets. India needed five wickets to win on the final session of the match and three out of those were taken by Umesh and then a couple picked by Ashwin. India have therefore win the series 3-0. They could have made it 4-0 had the match in Bengaluru not been washed out. De Villiers made 43 off 297 deliveries, which is the third slowest innings by a batsman facing over 200 deliveries. Amla could not last long after his marathon block on Day Four and was the first to go for 25 off 244 deliveries. Du Plessis too tried his best but could not last beyond 97 deliveries and managed only 10 runs. Dane Vilas was looking to hang around too but could not last long either. India managed to score 334 in the first innings courtesy of Rahane’s efforts and a half-century from Ravichandran Ashwin. Abbott was the pick of the South African bowlers as he finished with five wickets. Off-spinner Dane Piedt finished with four wickets. India bowled South Africa out quickly for just 121. Ravindra Jadeja picked up a five wickets for India, which was his second five-wicket haul of the series. On Day One, India won the toss and elected to bat first.
