India have reached the ICC World T20 2014 final. At the start of the T20 World Cup, not many had given India much hope. India were coming into the tournament on the back of only two international wins in 2014. They were also drawn in a tough Group 2 in the Super 10s. To qualify for the semi-finals, India had to get through the likes of pre-tournament favourites Sri Lanka, Australia, Pakistan and defending champions West Indies. There was also the matter of beating hosts Bangladesh.

But MS Dhoni‘s men qualified for the semi-finals in style beating all the teams comfortably. Amit Mishra proved to be the main bowler for India in the first few matches. The leg-spinner took wickets in bulk. Then as the business end of the tournament came up, Ravichandran Ashwin turned his magic arm and took the lion’s share of the wickets. Virat Kohli is the leading run-scorer in the T20 World Cup and he was magnificent against South Africa in the semi-finals. India now await Sri Lanka in the final on April 6.
