Chennai Super Kings beat the Delhi Daredevils by eight wickets in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2014 at the Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi. Chennai had won the toss and chose to bowl first. Early in the innings Quinton de Kock started well by smashing a few around. But then, they lost him and Kevin Pietersen in the space of a few deliveries. That is when Dinesh Karthik came in and scored a half-century. Murali Vijay also contributed with a sound knock. However, towards the end, it was Kedar Jadhav and JP Duminy smashing it around to take Delhi to 178.
In reply, Chennai started off well with Dwayne Smith and Brendon McCullum. Smith was in amazing touch and smashed as many as eight sixes. That was a remarkable knock and he was dismissed in the penultimate over. There was a bit of drama at the end but MS Dhoni was as cool as ever in finishing the game.
