Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) romped home to their fifth win in as many matches in the 2014 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) after beating the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in match 18 of IPL 7. Sandeep Sharma got his second man of the match award in as many matches for KXIP, getting rid of the danger men Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli in the same over, and following it up with the wicket of Parthiv Patel in his next over.

RCB fought back well to take the match into the penultimate over, but KXIP were never in any real trouble. Virender Sehwag again looked good, crossing 30 for the third time in as many games. While Maxwell and Miller failed to replicate their recent form, Rishi Dhawan and George Bailey ensured that there were no slip-ups with a stable partnership at the end.
