Rajasthan Royals (RR) pulled one over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in an exciting match in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2014 which saw KKR lose a slew of wickets in the middle overs. After Rajasthan put up 170 on the board, Kolkata were on course when Robin Uthappa and Gautam Gambhir put up a 121-run partnership where they dominated the bowling. But a six-wicket burst off only seven balls in the middle got Rajasthan right back in the game. Pravin Tambe took a terrific hat-trick off just two legal deliveries (his first wicket was a stumping down the leg side). Ultimately, Rajasthan won the game by 10 runs in a tense finish.
When Shane Watson came in to bowl the 15th over with Kolkata on 121 for no loss, and it looked like KKR would win easily. But then Gambhir edged one to the wicketkeeper. Uthappa followed soon when he holed out to mid-wicket for 65. Watson then finished the over by foxing Andre Russell with a slower ball that shattered his stumps. Yet, at 122 for three in 15 overs chasing 171, one would still back Kolkata, especially with names like Manish Pandey, Yusuf Pathan, Shakib-al-Hasan and Suryakumar Yadav still remaining. Tambe, however, had other plans.
