West Indies were 329 for five in reply to England’s first innings 258, a lead of 71 runs, at stumps on the second day of the second Test at Headingley on Saturday. Shai Hope was 147 not out — his maiden Test century — after sharing a fourth-wicket stand of 246 with opener Kraigg Brathwaite, who made 134. England lead this three-match series 1-0 after an innings and 209-run win in the inaugural day/night Test in Britain at Edgbaston last week.

Both the Headingley match and next month’s series finale at Lord’s are standard ‘daytime’ red-ball Tests.
