Ehsan Adil Biography
At 6’4”, Ehsan Adil has the perfect fast bowler’s frame. His ability to swing the ball both ways at 135 kmph, fused with his ability to generate bounce (thanks to his height) makes his a threatening prospect.
Adil played only a couple of domestic seasons before he was picked in the squad for World Cup 2015 squad at an age of just 21. He made his Test debut in 2013 against South Africa and picked up Graeme Smith with his third ball. Unfortunately, he got only one more wicket, and was dropped thereafter.
Making a comeback against New Zealand in 2014, he failed again. Meanwhile, he has not had not had much success in ODIs either, which made him a somewhat curious selection for the World Cup.
Perhaps the pressure of being introduced to the international circuit at a age too young has impacted his performances, but once he gets over that, he may turn out to be lethal. An exceptional First-Class average (around 20) is no mean feat.
