Jos Buttler Biography
Jos Buttler is a truly modern wicketkeeper batsman. An attacking batsman, Buttler’s strike-rates in limited-overs cricket are compelling. When he smashed the fastest One-Day International (ODI) ton for England against Sri Lanka in July 2014, calls for inclusion into the Test side grew louder. And, the call-up finally came when Matt Prior withdrew from the squad in the third Test against India at Southampton.
Buttler is an exciting strokemaker and adds dynamism to the England team. He is often unafraid to walk across his stumps and loft it behind. He also has shown the ability to flat-bat a few down the ground. Making his debut for Somerset in 2009 at the age of 19, Buttler grew in stature as an attacking player. In 2011, he was picked for the England T20 International (T20I) side and then got into the one-day side the next year. While he held his spot in the T20 squad, he only became a regular in the one-day side in 2013, when England’s experiment with Craig Kieswetter failed.Buttler switched over to Lancashire in 2014.
