Khurram Manzoor Biography
Khurram Manzoor is one of many opening batsmen tried out by Pakistan in recent past. Though he did show his talent with a few good scores, it was surprising that he was not given a longer run in the side early on. Manzoor first came into the Pakistan’s cricket circles in 2002-03, when he was still a teenager. However, he only made an international debut in 2008 against Zimbabwe in an ODI at Sheikhupura.
Manzoor marked the occasion with a half-century and went on to score two more fifties in his next six ODIs over the next year but was dropped subsequently. He made his Test debut during the ill-fated home series against Sri Lanka in 2009 and was unbeaten overnight at 59 during the second Test when terror struck the visiting side’s bus. He did play a few Tests thereafter, but despite an innings of 77 against Australia at Hobart in 2010, he was dropped.
Manzoor returned three years later on the tour to Zimbabwe and scored two fifties in the second Test. He then smashed his first Test ton against South Africa in the UAE.
