Ravi Rampaul Biography
Stocky but well-built, Ravi Rampaul is capable of moving the ball at appreciable pace. He played for the West Indies at the Under-15 World Cup, and then represented them at the under-19 World Cup in 2002. He was an early debutant in 2003, but it took him six years to deliver goods on a consistent basis.
A career fraught with injuries has prevented Rampaul from playing as much as he could have, but when on song he can be destructive with the ball. Not really known for his batting, Rampaul had shocked India with a brutal assault in a match in 2011 with an unbeaten 86 off just 66 balls batting at No 10 — a record which still stands.
Rampaul also seems to thrive against India with ball in hand. One of his most memorable performances came in the 2011 World Cup when he picked five for 51 against India at Chennai.
