Sandeep Sharma Biography
One of the many young Indian cricketers who came through ranks in age-group cricket, Sandeep Sharma is a swing bowler who mainly brings the ball into the batsman. He has made a successful transition to the senior level with good performances for Punjab. Sandeep had represented India during the Under-19 World Cup 2010 in New Zealand, but more importantly he was a part of the side that lifted the trophy in Townsville two years later.
In helpful conditions in Townsville, Sandeep showed a penchant to move the ball and bowled tight spells with the new ball. He took 12 wickets in the tournament and on his return went on to become Punjab’s strike-bowler in domestic cricket.
In the Indian Premier League (IPL), he has been a part of the Kings XI Punjab, who bought him back for the 2014 season. So far, he has impressed with his disciplined performances. Since he usually bowls in the 120s (kilometres per hour) some may say he requires a little more pace to make it through to the Indian team.
