Two teams who were expected to be title contenders at the recently concluded ICC Champions Trophy 2013 will face each other when South Africa travel to Sri Lanka for a five-match One-Day International (ODI) series, quickly followed by a three-match Twenty20 series.
Both these sides will look to move on from their performance in England and build a side with the ICC World Cup 2015 in mind. A young South African outfit could come up against Angelo Mathews-led Sri Lankan side.
The teams will play two ODIs each in Colombo and Pallekele before returning to Colombo for the fifth and final match. South Africa's tour will come to an end with a three-match Twenty20 series, which begins on August 2 in Colombo and moves to Hambantota for the last two encounters.
