Bangladesh will face-off against West Indies in three One-Day Internationals (ODIs), two Tests and a solitary Twenty 20 International (T20Is) starting on August 22.
West Indies recently lost a Test series against New Zealand 2-1 at home, and will be hoping to put up a better performance against Bangladesh. They also lost a three match ODI series at home against England.
Bangladesh too haven’t had a great year, and will look to give their passionate fans something to cheer about by winning a few matches in this series. They can take inspiration from their tour to West Indies in 2009, where they had whitewashed the hosts 3-0 in ODIs and 2-0 in Tests.
However, the visitors will miss all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan who was banned by the Bangladesh Cricket Board for bad behaviour. Both teams will look at the series as an opportunity to strike the right team balance ahead of ICC World Cup 2015.
