Zimbabwe, South Africa and Australia will participate in a Triangular series starting from August 25. All teams will look at the tournament as an opportunity to strike the right team balance ahead of the upcoming ICC World Cup 2015.
Hosts Zimbabwe will benefit from the experience of playing against some of the biggest international players. They will look to put up a better performance than they did in the recently concluded three-match One-Day International series against South Africa, which they lost 3-0. For inspiration, they can look to their performance in the only Test match against South Africa, where they put up a spirited fight despite ending up on the losing side.
South Africa are currently on high, and the side looks to be one of the major contenders for being victors in the upcoming ICC World Cup 2015. They won a Test series in Sri Lanka, which is a significant achievement for any side outside the sub-continent. They will look to continue their winning habit, in the triangular series too.
The Australian will be rusty as they have gone a long while without competing in ODI cricket. They will be giving opportunities to new players like Mitchell Marsh and Ben Cutting, and they’ll need to perform well to challenge for a place in the talented Australian line-up.
