M Stoinis to J Roy, RUN OUT! That's the only way this pair looked like getting separated. And now, we've to stop the press about the excellent running between the wickets. Roy tucks it off his pads towards deep backward square leg and sets across for one. Even though Short was getting to the ball, the plan for the second by the English duo wasn't aborted. A flat and quick throw was fired to the keeper, who flicked the bails off in a flash. The TV umpire is summoned. A first couple of looks confirms doom for the batter. This is the highest stand between Roy and Bairstow and also the joint-second opening stand at this venue.
Jonny Bairstowc Jhye Richardson b Ashton Agar 139 92 15 5 151.09
34.1
A Agar to J Bairstow, OUT! So Jonny does not cross his highest ODI score, falls three runs short of passing it. First wicket for an Australian spinner this series. Not the best of balls though but Australia will take it with both hands open. It is on the shorter side and on middle, Bairstow goes back and pulls it hard but does not keep it down. He also does not get the desired elevation and it goes towards Jhye Richardson at deep mid-wicket who takes a good catch running to his left. End of a magnificent innings by Bairstow. He walks off to a standing ovation. Also, Finch walks upto him and shakes his hand. Good gesture by the Australian.
Alex Halesc Ashton Agar b Jhye Richardson 147 92 16 5 159.78
47.2
J Richardson to A Hales, OUT! In the air... taken very calmly by Agar! But end of a brilliant, brilliant innings by Hales at his home ground. Quite a few Australian players congratulate him as he walks off, the crowd is on its feet as he acknowledges the applause on the way back to the pavilion. He perishes in the attempt to clear the fence again. It is the slower ball on middle, Hales swings across the line but only gets height on it. It goes towards deep mid-wicket where Agar accepts it. Richardson gets his second.
Jos Buttler (W)c Aaron Finch b Jhye Richardson 11 12 0 1 91.67
37.3
J Richardson to Jos Buttler, OUT! Buttler holes out! His promotion up the order does not work. But a lot of credit has to be given to the bowler here. Another excellently disguised slower delivery on the fuller length. Jos is foxed by it. He is early into his shot and only manages to hit it high, very high I should say, in the air towards long on. Finch there, does well to judge it, position himself just inside the ropes and take it reverse cup. He then gestures to one of his mates that he had lost it in the sky. Two quick wickets for Australia and they will be relieved to see the back of the dangerous Buttler. Can they now build on this though?
Eoin Morgan (C)c Tim Paine b Jhye Richardson 67 30 3 6 223.33
47.3
J Richardson to E Morgan, OUT! Make that three! Two-in-two for Richardson! Once again it is the slower one which does the trick. On middle, Morgan swings but only manages to get a top edge. It goes high up in the air besides the wicket. Paine calls for it and takes it. Another enterprising innings by an English batsman comes to an end. Richardson is on a hat-trick and Ali will be facing it.
Moeen Alirun out (Tim Paine) 11 9 0 0 122.22
49.5
A Tye to Joe Root, OUT! Moeen Ali sacrifices his wicket for the team. Root swings at a slower ball outside leg. He misses. Ali goes for a bye but the keeper hits the stumps at his end.

D'Arcy Shortc Moeen Ali b David Willey 15 12 1 1 125
3.1
D Willey to D Short, OUT! Another short stay at the crease for Short. England have their first victim. Nothing special about the delivery or about the shot. It is a half volley on middle and leg and Short could have hit it anywhere he wanted to. But he chose mid on and did not bother to keep it down. The ball was dipping onto Moeen Ali who did well to get forward and take it. Short stays there for a long while and then trudges off. Australia would have hoped his innings was longer.
Travis Headc & b Moeen Ali 51 39 7 0 130.77
12.3
M Ali to T Head, OUT! Soft dismissal! Head wastes his start. Just as we mentioned that he has not allowed the start to get to him, Travis has thrown it away. He was getting itchy to go after Moeen and was trying to rotate the strike. Even here, he was aiming to go for a single down the ground. But ended up chipping it tamely back to the bowler. A decent 68-run stand ends. 387 more needed from 225 balls.
Shaun Marshc Liam Plunkett b Moeen Ali 24 30 0 1 80
14.1
M Ali to S Marsh, OUT! Marsh is outta here. He tries to send this out of the park but this is one of those areas where he could not clear. No explanation though. Did the ball stop on him? Did he not get to the pitch of the ball? Did he get more height than elevation? Most of us are puzzled. Because it seemed a very good shot. Tossed up on middle, Marsh comes down the track and sends it into oblivion. At first sight, it seems like it is a big hit but then when the ball comes down, we find Liam Plunkett taking the catch at the long on fence! Second wicket for Moeen.
Marcus Stoinisrun out (Jonny Bairstow) 44 37 4 1 118.92
23.6
D Willey to M Stoinis, OUT! Poor running and a needless run out. Half the Aussie side is back in the hut and coach Justin Langer cannot bear to watch in the dressing room. Stoinis tickles this towards deep mid-wicket and does no calling. He takes the single, blindly turns for the second, does not even look at his partner, runs around the bowler a touch and has no idea where the throw is coming from. Bairstow returns a nice sharp throw to Buttler who disturbs the stumps. Stoinis is yards short. No communication with Maxwell at all. The Big Show had waited at the striker's end for a second, just to check whether Stoinis wanted the second. Then he started to run after seeing Stoinis charge. What a waste of a wicket.
Aaron Finchb Adil Rashid 20 19 0 2 105.26
20.4
A Rashid to A Finch, OUT! Knocked him over! Excellent bowling from Rashid. He could have easily bowled a dart after getting hit for a six on the previous ball but he backed his guts and tossed it on middle. Finch attempted an ugly hoick across the line, a slog sweep that is but missed as the ball straightened and hit the middle stump. Once again, the Aussies are imploding in the middle overs.
Glenn Maxwellc Liam Plunkett b David Willey 19 19 1 1 100
27.3
D Willey to G Maxwell, OUT! Maxwell is caught at long on again! A short ball outside off, angling away, The Big Show tries to pull it over long on but is far from the ball. Ends up dragging it and nearly finds the fence but Liam Plunkett over there leaps in time to take a good catch. Another innings which had some flair, a start but was then doused off.
Tim Paine (C) (W)c Alex Hales b Adil Rashid 5 9 0 0 55.56
26.6
A Rashid to Tim Paine, OUT! Straight to the man! A short ball outside off, Paine goes back and pulls it away but straight to Alex Hales at the fence. Does not have to move much. Paine disappoints again.
Ashton Agarc & b Adil Rashid 25 23 2 1 108.7
34.5
A Rashid to A Agar, OUT! That is another sharp catch! Tossed up on middle, Agar pushes it down the ground but Rashid throws himself to his right and takes it nicely. Replays show that Rashid juggled a touch but held on.
Jhye Richardsonst Jos Buttler b Moeen Ali 14 25 0 0 56
35.6
M Ali to J Richardson, OUT! Easily done. Moeen tosses this over the eyeline of the batsman and Richardson cannot resist. Comes down the track and has an attempt to go over the top but misses. Buttler doesn't and whips off the bails.
Andrew Tyenot out 5 5 0 0 100
Billy Stanlakest Jos Buttler b Adil Rashid 1 4 0 0 25
36.6
A Rashid to B Stanlake, OUT! Stumped it will be and that ends the game. A WHOPPING 242-RUN WIN FOR ENGLAND - Their heaviest over any opposition and Australia's biggest defeat margin. Floated outside off, the googly, Stanlake comes down the track and looks to defend but misses the wrong 'un. Buttler collects and whips off the bails. It is still referred upstairs as Stanlake made a slight attempt to get back but replays confirm that it is not enough. ENGLAND GO 3-0 UP!!!
