T Ahmed to Rahul, OUT! CHOPPED ON! What a start for Bangladesh to the Test match! Rahul will consider himself slightly unlucky but it wasn't a wise shot to start with. Full ball outside off, he goes for the lazy drive without any footwork. Gets a thick inside edge that cannons on to his back leg before disturbing the stumps. Taskin is pumped up and why shouldn't he be? Perfect start for the tourists.
Murali Vijayb Taijul Islam 108 160 12 1 67.5
63.4
T Islam to Vijay, OUT! CASTLED! Floated in the line of the off stick, Vijay shuffles across and goes for a lazy sweep. He cannot find contact there and the ball has gone through his defence. The ball hits the timber and the Bangladeshi players roar in celebration. A beautiful innings comes to an end with a really poor shot.
Cheteshwar Pujarac Mushfiqur Rahim b Mehedi Hasan 83 177 9 0 46.89
50.5
M Hasan to Pujara, OUT! Tossed up delivery, Pujara goes ahead and is playing for the turn. Little did he realise that it was a straighter one and edges it to Rahim, who catches it. First it bounced off his pads, but he maintained his calm and jumped to grab it. However, the crowd is enjoying it, because Virat Kohli will come at the centre. They are buzzing. Pujara goes for a well made 83.
Virat Kohli (C)lbw b Taijul Islam 204 246 24 0 82.93
125.1
T Islam to Kohli, OUT! KOHLI DEPARTS! Floated outside off and angling in, Kohli stays deep in his crease and tries to cut it. He misses the ball and the ball hits his pads first and then his bat. The players appeal and the umpire raises his finger. Kohli walks away the very next moment. A brilliant display of batting comes to an end where he has been dominating from ball one. Replays show that the impact was outside off which would have saved him. Maybe a bad decision to not go for the review.
Ajinkya Rahanec Mehedi Hasan b Taijul Islam 82 133 11 0 61.65
113.3
T Islam to Rahane, OUT! BLINDER FROM MEHEDI! Brilliant catch and that means that Rahane won't get a century on his comeback. This was slightly short and outside off, he looked to use the pace towards point. Mehedi at short cover moves to his left to take a superb diving catch. Excellent reflexes and some relief for the visitors this morning as the marathon 222-run stand is finally over. Good knock from Rahane.

M Hasan to Ashwin, OUT! EDGED AND GONE! Floated outside off, skids through as Ashwin pushes at it. Gets the outside edge to first slip where Sarkar takes a sharp one-handed catch. Just reward for Mehedi who has bowled well today although the figures don't show it.

Tamim Iqbalrun out (Umesh Yadav) 24 53 3 0 45.28

Kumar to Haque, OUT! Bad way to lose the first wicket! Angling into the pads, Haque clips it through the square leg region. Umesh Yadav comes in running from the fine leg region quickly to throw it back to the bowler. Tamim wants the second, Mominul hesitates for a bit. Looking at Mominul, even Tamim stutters and that costs him. Bhuvneshwar collects the ball quickly and throws it on the stumps. Tamim is a long way out and he has to walk back to the pavilion.
Soumya Sarkarc Wriddhiman Saha b Umesh Yadav 15 31 3 0 48.39
11.2
U Yadav to Sarkar, OUT! GONE! What a review from Virat! Length ball outside off, angling in, Sarkar goes for the drive as Saha take a fine diving catch to his right. Big appeal as the Indians feel there is a faint inside edge there. Nobody is really confident though. Kohli decides to gamble with the review as he feels he has heard something. It seems to be very close to the naked eye. Guess what, the Snicko shows a slight spike. That will do for the hosts as the on-field call has to be overturned. Kohli cannot do any wrong, can he? Sarkar isn't happy as he walks back to the pavilion. Just the spark the Indians needed after a rather uneventful passage of play.
Mominul Haquelbw b Umesh Yadav 12 36 1 0 33.33
24.1
Yadav to Haque, OUT! RAPPED ON THE PADS! Angling in from a length, Haque tries to defend it but the ball hits him on the back pad. He is totally beaten by the inward movement. They appeal in unison and the umpire raises his finger. It seemed plumb. Replays show that the umpire has given a really good decision. Hack eye shows that the ball was hitting the top of off stump.
Mahmudullahlbw b Ishant Sharma 28 57 4 0 49.12
34.4
Sharma to Mahmudullah, OUT! BANGLADESH HAVE A REVIEW WASTED! Angling into the pads, Mahmudullah tries to get his bat in between but he is too late as the ball hits him on the back The players appeal and the umpire raises his finger. He seems to be limping. He has a talk with his partner and goes for a review as Mahmudullah feels it is too high. Replays show that the ball would have gone on to hit the top of leg stump which means the umpire decision stays.
Shakib Al Hasanc Umesh Yadav b Ravichandran Ashwin 82 103 14 0 79.61
62.1
R Ashwin to Hasan, OUT! BAD TIME TO LOSE A WICKET! Floated delivery, Shakib dances down the track but this time gets it high on his bat as he goes to loft it over the mid on region. He cannot find the desired contact as the ball goes straight to Umesh Yadav at mid on for an easy catch. Shakib has given away his wicket after having played so well.
Mushfiqur Rahim (C)(W)c Wriddhiman Saha b Ravichandran Ashwin 127 262 16 2 48.47
127.5
Ashwin to M Rahim, OUT! 250 TEST WICKETS FOR ASHWIN! He is the fastest ever to reach the landmark as well. Wasn't a wicket-taking delivery though as he speared this down the leg side, Rahim went for the sweep but got a fine bottom edge that was smartly taken by Saha. The appeal for a catch was given instantly and Rahim didn't want to review it either. The umpires check for the no ball and Ashwin is fine. So, that wraps up the innings. INDIA LEAD BY 299 RUNS.
Sabbir Rahmanlbw b Ravindra Jadeja 16 35 2 0 45.71
71.1
Jadeja to Rahman, OUT! SABBIR HAS TO WALK BACK DISAPPOINTED! Darted in the line of the stumps, Sabbir sits down and goes for the sweep. He is unable to make contact and the ball goes on to hit his front pad first and then the back pad. The Indians appeal and the umpire raises his finger up. Sabbir has a talk with his captain about reviewing it but Rahim says no. Hawk Eye shows that the ball was going on to hit the leg stump so it was a good decision by the umpire and Rahim. Sabbir's short stay in the middle comes to an end.
Mehedi Hasanb Bhuvneshwar Kumar 51 107 10 0 47.66
104.4
Kumar to M Hasan, OUT! CASTLED! Fuller delivery which nips back in after pitching, Mehedi Hasan lunges forward and tries to defend it. But that ball has gone through his defence and rattled the timber. What-a-start for the Indians. Mehedi has to walk back without scoring a single run today.
Taijul Islamc Wriddhiman Saha b Umesh Yadav 10 38 2 0 26.32
113.5
U Yadav to Islam, OUT! SHORT BALL HAS DONE THE TRICK! Again a short delivery and Islam tries to sit under it. But like the last ball he still has his glove and bat hanging in the air. The ball catches the the gloves and goes straight in the hands of the keeper. Saha takes an easy catch behind the stumps. The players appeal but the batsman has already started walking. Only two wickets left for Bangladesh.
Taskin Ahmedc Ajinkya Rahane b Ravindra Jadeja 8 35 1 0 22.86
124.3
R Jadeja to T Ahmed, OUT! EDGED AND GONE! Flatter outside off, Taskin pushes hard at it and gets an outside edge that flies low to first slip where Rahane pouches it with ease. Taskin's brief defiance comes to an end. We are down to the last wicket now.

T Ahmed to Vijay, OUT! VIJAY DEPARTS! Short and wide outside off, Vijay has a slash at it as the ball goes to the keeper. The players appeal in unison and the umpire stays put. Wait! Vijay has started walking. The umpire calls him and goes upstairs to check the front foot. Replays show that it is a fair delivery and the umpire has raised his finger. There was a mild edge there and Taskin has drawn first blood in the process.

Ahmed to Rahul, OUT! EDGED AND TAKEN! Good length delivery outside off, Rahul stays in his crease and goes slashing at it. He finds an outside edge which goes straight into the gloves of Rahim. The players appeal and the umpire has raised his finger. The umpire still goes upstairs to check if its a front foot no ball. But again he is just safe and Rahul has to walk back. Two in two overs for Taskin.

R Ashwin to Iqbal, OUT! GOOD REVIEW BY KOHLI! Floated ball outside off, Tamim looks to push at it with hard hands as the ball bobbles towards Kohli at gully. Huge appeal, initially for lbw, is turned down although Virat was appealing for a catch. After a chat with his players, he opts for the review, indicating to the umpire that it is for a catch. Replays confirm that there was a healthy inside edge and so it is a terrific review. The on-field call is reversed and Tamim has to go. Early blow for Bangladesh.
Soumya Sarkarc Ajinkya Rahane b Ravindra Jadeja 42 66 7 0 63.64
21.6
R Jadeja to S Sarkar, OUT! BLINDER FROM RAHANE! Sarkar's resistance comes to an end and it's the other spin twin who provides the second wicket of the innings. Flatter outside off, Sarkar pushes hard at it but gets a thick edge that flies to first slip where Rahane sticks out his right hand in reflex to take an excellent catch. Timely strike for the Indians as this was a very promising stand.
Mominul Haquec Ajinkya Rahane b Ravichandran Ashwin 27 63 3 0 42.86
24.1
R Ashwin to Haque, OUT! RAHANE DOES IT AGAIN! An easier catch this time and Ashwin has his second wicket. Floated ball around leg which is turning away, Mominul has a push at it and gets a thick edge that flies straight to Ajinkya at first slip. Bangladesh are suddenly looking very vulnerable with India's spin twins breathing fire.
Mahmudullahc Bhuvneshwar Kumar b Ishant Sharma 64 149 7 0 42.95
76.3
Sharma to Mahmudullah, OUT! THE SHORT BALL PLOY WORKS! This is a huge blow for Bangladesh as the well-set Mahmudullah has to depart. Ishant bangs it midway down the pitch and forces the batsman to go for the pull stroke. Turns into a top edge that is comfortably pouched by Kumar at fine leg. A solid knock ends but Mahmudullah will know that he should have batted deep into the day. India just three wickets away now.
Shakib Al Hasanc Cheteshwar Pujara b Ravindra Jadeja 22 50 4 0 44
37.3
R Jadeja to Hasan, OUT! GOT HIM! This was always on the cards, considering Shakib's intent but to be fair to him, this was an unplayable ball. On a length outside off, rears up off the rough with sharp inward spin to rap Shakib on the glove. The ball then strikes the thigh pad and bobbles to short leg where Pujara takes an easy catch. Huge wicket for India. Shakib is surprised by the lift on the delivery but he has to go. Jadeja has a wry smile and is inspecting the area from where he got the bite. Expect him to be relentless in that spot.
Mushfiqur Rahim (C)(W)c Ravindra Jadeja b Ravichandran Ashwin 23 44 2 1 52.27
52.4
R Ashwin to Rahim, OUT! Ashwin strikes in his very first over! Bad choice of shot after such a settled knock. The big fish departs and the hosts will be really elated after getting him as he was really vital in the first innings. Floated outside off, Rahim again tries to reach to the pitch of the ball but he is unable to do it this time. He still goes for the shot and the bat turns in his hand as he just hits in the air towards the extra cover region. Jadeja traces back a few steps and takes a fine catch. That is a very big blow to the visitors and is quite similar to the Shakib dismissal in the first innings which also came at a very bad time. The skipper has to walk back and India need just 5 more wickets to win.
Sabbir Rahmanlbw b Ishant Sharma 22 61 3 1 36.07
70.4
I Sharma to Rahman, OUT! THAT WAS PLUMB! Rahman has wasted a review after consulting his partner. Angling into the stumps, from a good length. The ball stays a bit low and Rahman is beaten by it as he stands deep in his crease to defend it. He misses and he gets hit on his pads. A loud appeal and the umpire gives it out. Rahman consults Mahmudullah and goes upstairs to review it as they have two reviews left. Replays show that it was plumb and there was no trouble for the umpire to give that out. Bangladesh have lost their last recognised pair and have only 4 wickets in hand.
Mehedi Hasanc Wriddhiman Saha b Ravindra Jadeja 23 61 4 0 37.7
90.4
R Jadeja to Hasan, OUT! GOT HIM! Mehedi should probably have reviewed it but he chooses not to. A ripper from Jadeja as the ball spits off the deck and turns away from Mehedi who looks to block. Extra bounce and it's well taken by Saha. Big appeal for caught behind and it's given by the umpire as well. We will have to look at the replays to see if there was any glove and maybe Mehedi could have used the DRS. Replays show that there was a faint amount of glove, Snicko confirms the same.
Kamrul Islam Rabbinot out 3 70 0 0 4.29
Taijul Islamc Lokesh Rahul b Ravindra Jadeja 6 24 1 0 25
97.5
R Jadeja to Islam, OUT! GONE! Tea will now be extended with this wicket. A bit short around off, Taijul goes back to pull but miscues it straight up in the air. India's openers were the two men converging under the ball. Vijay initially was taking evasive action and then decides to go for the catch but Rahul ends up taking, almost colliding with his opening partner. All is well that ends well and India are now just one wicket away.
Taskin Ahmedlbw b Ravichandran Ashwin 1 7 0 0 14.29
100.3
R Ashwin to Ahmed, OUT! INDIA WIN BY 208 RUNS! Very full on leg stump, Taskin looks to flick but is struck on the pads. Big appeal for lbw and one of the close-in fielders has taken the catch as well. Erasmus thinks there is an inside edge and so denies the lbw appeal. However, as the fielder has taken it, he has to go upstairs to confirm if there was a bat involved. The soft signal is OUT. Replays show that there was no inside edge. So, it is a not out regarding the catch. Kohli then nonchalantly opts for the review, which was obvious. Ball Tracker shows that the impact is in line and that's hitting the leg stump. So, that completes a quite comfortable win for India.
