Al Hasan to Cook, OUT! Whoa, Cook is bowled round his legs! What a start for Shakib and Bangladesh! A flighted ball landing around leg, Cook sits down on one knee to play the sweep shot but fails to connect. It hits him on the gloves, pops out and to his dismay goes on to fall on the stumps. The Bangla players are ecstatic, they have hunted down England's big fish.
Ben Duckettb Mehedi Hasan 14 35 2 0 40
9.5
Hasan to Ben Duckett, OUT! Sound of timber! A beautifully bowled off spinner, landing around middle and spinning away, Duckett gets forward and tries to play the trajectory but it curves past his bat to disturb the stumps. Debutant gets debutant and it's a superb start for Bangladesh. Plenty of spin on offer already.
Joe Rootc Sabbir Rahman b Mehedi Hasan 40 49 5 0 81.63
29.2
M Hasan to Root, OUT! Root falls! This is a body blow to England. Mehedi bowls from around the wicket and delivers a full floated ball around off, it straightens a touch after landing as Root lunges to defend. But it takes the outer half of the bat, screams behind and pops out off the keeper's pads. Sabbir stationed at first slip does well to react and takes a good catch. Root departs after showing good form. Bangladesh on top!
Gary Ballancelbw b Mehedi Hasan 1 7 0 0 14.29
11.6
Hasan to Ballance, OUT! That's dead plumb in front! Mehedi, you beauty! Dishes out his variation delivery after bowling a few offies, fires in a slider around off and it skids on after pitching. Ballance goes on the back foot, thinking it to spin away but it keeps coming towards him. He immediately tries to bring his bat down in defense but it seems the ball has brushed the pads first. Bangladesh appeal straightaway for an lbw but the umpire shakes his head. Rahim, who has seen everything from quite close to the stumps is quick to take the DRS. The replays confirm that it has hit the pads first and rest is history. You cannot get more plumb than this. Gary is out of here and Bangladesh are taking a firm grip on this Test.
Moeen Alic Mushfiqur Rahim b Mehedi Hasan 68 170 8 1 40
67.6
M Hasan to Ali, OUT! CRACKING BALL AND ALI GOES! Flighted delivery and Ali pushes tamely at it. The off break spins away sharply with bounce to force the edge which is well taken by Rahim behind the sticks. Ali is walking even before the umpire's finger is raised. It's been a very fine knock from him. Much-needed wicket for the hosts and they know it. A valuable 88-run stand has been broken.
Ben Stokesb Shakib Al Hasan 18 34 0 1 52.94
40.4
Al Hasan to Stokes, OUT! Clattered! Shakib produces a beauty to breach Stokes' defense. He tosses it up in the air, slower in pace, it lands full around off and spins back in a shade to beat the forward defensive prod by Stokes. It sneaks through and strikes the top of off stump. What a sight for a spinner! Smart thinking by the bowler, the last delivery kept its line after landing and this one spun back in to fool the batsman. Terrific stuff!
Jonny Bairstow (W)b Mehedi Hasan 52 126 8 0 41.27
81.6
Hasan to J Bairstow, OUT! Bowled 'em! The debutant strikes again, it's a 5-fer on debut for him and he becomes the 7th bowler to achieve this feat for Bangladesh. Quicker delivery around off, skidding in off the surface as Bairstow tries to play across the line. He misses the ball completely and finds his stumps disturbed. A big breakthrough for Bangladesh. Jonny departs after playing a fine knock.
Chris Woakesc Mominul Haque b Taijul Islam 36 78 5 0 46.15
92.1
Islam to C Woakes, OUT! What a start! A wicket first ball for Bangladesh. Islam dishes out an arm ball around middle and leg, it skids on after pitching as Woakes gets forward to defend. But the ball takes the inner half of the bat, brushes his pads and pops out to short leg where Mominul holds on to a good catch. Early success for the Bangla Tigers and they are delighted.
Adil Rashidc Sabbir Rahman b Taijul Islam 26 54 3 0 48.15
100.3
T Islam to Rashid, OUT! Sharp catch by debutant Sabbir! Taijul goes flat through the air and lands it shorter around off, Rashid goes back to punch it through the line but fails to keep it down. Sabbir manning the short extra cover region dives to his left to take a cracking catch inches off the surface. End of a vital contribution from Rashid. Second wicket for Taijul this morning.
Stuart Broadc Mushfiqur Rahim b Mehedi Hasan 13 37 2 0 35.14
105.5
Hasan to Broad, OUT! Broad is gone! Mehedi bowls a nicely tossed up off spinner around off, drifting in and spinning away, Stuart gets forward in defense, feels for it and pushes inside the line. He fails to middle it and the ball whizzes past the outside edge. Rahim collects the ball and jumps in appeal but nothing from the umpire. He quickly goes for the DRS and the Ultra Edge detects a little spike. Mehedi finishes with a 6-fer and ENGLAND ARE ALL OUT FOR 293!

54.4
G Batty to Iqbal, OUT! Against the run of play, England get the prized wicket of Tamim Iqbal! Batty bowls it quicker through the air and around off, Iqbal goes back to cut it through the line but it's too close to his body. He ends up getting a faint edge to the keeper who grabs a sharp catch. They appeal and almost instantaneously the finger goes up. Tamim has a chat with his skipper regarding the DRS before heading back to the pavilion. End of a fine knock! Bangladesh trail by 130 runs.
Imrul Kayesb Moeen Ali 21 50 3 0 42
13.2
M Ali to I Kayes, OUT! GOT HIM! Ali has started with a bang! Lovely drift into the batsman and Kayes has to play at it. The ball spins away ever so slightly to beat the edge and disturbs the timber. Moeen draws first blood for England and already signs that he could be a big threat on this surface for Bangladesh.
Mominul Haquec Ben Stokes b Moeen Ali 0 3 0 0 0
13.5
M Ali to M Haque, OUT! ALI HAS ANOTHER! This is top class spin bowling from Ali! The off break around off, sharp turn once again and this time Mominul isn't lucky enough. Gets the outside edge that brushes Bairstow's gloves and bobbles to Stokes at gully who pouches it with ease. THAT SHALL BE LUNCH ON DAY 2.
Mahmudullahc Joe Root b Adil Rashid 38 66 3 0 57.58
43.2
A Rashid to Mahmudullah, OUT! RASHID STRIKES! Once again a wicket to end the session. Lovely leg break outside off, fizzes away and Mahmudullah has a lazy poke at it. Unwanted shot really and the edge goes straight to Root who gobbles it up at slip. Ends a very valuable 90-run stand. THAT SHALL BE TEA ON DAY 2.
Mushfiqur Rahim (C)(W)c Jonny Bairstow b Ben Stokes 48 77 6 0 62.34
71.3
Ben Stokes to Rahim, OUT! That's a big breakthrough at the fag end of the day! Stokes persists with his line just outside off and gets it to straighten a touch, Rahim has a tame push inside the line without much footwork and gets a faint nick behind. It's dying in front of the keeper, Bairstow leans forward to take the catch but fluffs it a bit. However, he does well to keep it under his gloves. Stokes appeals, the umpire is not sure, walks up to his partner and then takes it upstairs. The replays show that it's cleanly done after the initial hiccup by Jonny. A good knock by the Bangladeshi skipper comes to an end. They trail by 72 runs!
Shakib Al Hasanst Jonny Bairstow b Moeen Ali 31 62 3 0 50
74.2
M Ali to Hasan, OUT! Shakib is stumped! Brain fade from him, just the second ball of the morning and he runs out of patience. Dances down the track for a big shot but the ball lands around off and spins away to beat his bat. It's an easy stumping for Bairstow and Bangladesh have lost a very important wicket. Still trail by 72 runs. Poor, very poor by Shakib, what was he thinking?
Shafiul Islamc Stuart Broad b Adil Rashid 2 29 0 0 6.9
80.2
A Rashid to Islam, OUT! Rashid removes the nightwatchman! A good bowling change by Cook. A tossed up ball on off, fuller in length and spinning away a touch, Shafiul tries to power it down the ground, playing against the spin but fails to gather enough power behind his shot. It goes aerial and Broad takes a simple catch by moving across to his left from mid on. Bangladesh trail by 55 runs!
Sabbir Rahmanc Alastair Cook b Ben Stokes 19 32 3 0 59.38
85.3
Stokes to S Rahman, OUT! Stokes once again angles in a length ball on off and gets it to straighten, Sabbir pokes inside the line and edges it behind to first slip. It's dying in front of Cook who goes down low to his right with both hands to catch the ball. He is not sure and the umpires go upstairs. The third umpire has multiple angles to look, the replays don't look conclusive and he goes with the soft signal which was out. Bangladesh trail by 45 runs.
Mehedi Hasanlbw b Ben Stokes 1 4 0 0 25
81.1
Stokes to Hasan, OUT! Trapped in front! Stokes angles in a length ball around off and it skids through with the angle after landing. Hasan remains inside the crease as he attempts to flick on the leg side but misses. They appeal and the finger goes up. Mehedi has a chat with his partner and then takes the DRS. The replays show that it's hitting leg and Hasan has to go. Not a good outing with the bat for the debutant. Bangladesh trail by 54 runs!

Kamrul Islam Rabbib Ben Stokes 0 3 0 0 0

Ben Stokes to Rabbi, OUT! BOWLED 'EM! That's a wrap to the innings. Length ball on off, Rabbi doesn't offer a stroke to it. Tails back in sharply to disturb the timber. Exceptional spell of reverse swing bowling from Stokes and he finishes with a 4-fer. What a comeback from England! BANGLADESH HAVE BEEN BOWLED OUT FOR 248.

M Hasan to A Cook, OUT! Edged and gone! Huge wicket for Bangladesh and it's their debutant hero Mehedi who draws first blood. Floats up the off break around off, Cook's stuck on the crease and has a tame push at it. The outside edge flies low to first slip where Mahmudullah takes a very fine catch. Went two-handed towards it but the ball sticks to his right hand. Twin failure for the England captain.
Ben Duckettc Mominul Haque b Shakib Al Hasan 15 34 1 0 44.12
11.2
Al Hasan to Ben Duckett, OUT! Shakib has another! What a game this is turning out to be! Floated on middle, spinning in with extra bounce as Duckett looks to flick. Strikes the glove in the process and then balloons off the pads to Mominul at forward short leg. The appeal for a catch is given and Duckett decides not to review it. Bangladesh sign off the session with a bang. IT'S LUNCH ON DAY 3.
Joe Rootlbw b Shakib Al Hasan 1 4 0 0 25
9.2
Hasan to Root, OUT! GOT HIM! Floats it up on leg stump, straightens a bit to rap Root on the front pad as he misses the sweep. Looked plumb to the naked eye and the umpire raises his finger to oblige the lbw appeal. Root has a chat with Duckett and opts for the review. Nothing on the Hot Spot. Impact is in line and that's knocking middle stump out. Another massive wicket for Bangladesh, they've got both the big guns in successive overs. 150th Test scalp for Shakib. Perfect start for the hosts and it's game on. LEAD IS 72 now.
Gary Ballancec Imrul Kayes b Taijul Islam 9 25 1 0 36
18.2
T Islam to Ballance, OUT! Sharp catch by Kayes! A flighted full ball on middle, Ballance goes down and plays a firm sweep shot. However, he fails to keep it down and Kayes at leg gully shows great reflexes to hold on to a sharp catch. That's brilliantly done. England lead by 91 runs!

27.1
Al Hasan to Ali, OUT! Moeen Ali departs! Big blow to the English team! A flighted ball landing around off and spinning in, Moeen gets forward and across to play the sweep shot but fails to middle it. It hits him on the pads, pops out and takes the back of the bat. The bowler turns back to appeal for an lbw and in the meanwhile Rahim swiftly moves forward and dives to take the catch. The appeal now gets stronger and Moeen walks even before the finger goes up. Third wicket for Shakib, he has bowled a lot better in this innings. England lead by 107 runs!

Al Hasan to Stokes, OUT! Shakib has his fourth! Fuller on off, it's too full for the sweep but Stokes goes through the stroke. Misses it and is rapped on the front pad. Loud appeal for lbw and it's upheld. Stokes thinks for a while and then decides to review but he's run out of time. He has to go but not before playing an excellent knock. Bangladesh now chipping away at the wickets. Lead is 242 though. England will want to get it past 275 at least.

He manages to get some bat on it but it appears to have brushed his pad first. Appeal for lbw but not given. Rahim decides to review it. Replays show that it is pad first. Over to Hawk Eye. Impact in line and that's crashing into middle stump. Great performance from Shakib, he's bowled tirelessly today. Lead is 258 now.
Stuart Broadrun out (Mehedi Hasan) 10 27 2 0 37.04

Al Hasan to Broad, OUT! Well short! Needless from England! Flatter and quicker on middle, Woakes gets back to work it on the leg side but closes the face of the bat early. It goes off the leading edge to short third man and they attempt for a quick run. Broad responds but fails to make it as a flat throw comes to Rahim who does the rest. They appeal, the third umpire is referred and the replays show that Broad is not even in the frame. England lead by 278!
Gareth Battylbw b Taijul Islam 3 8 0 0 37.5

T Islam to Batty, OUT! Gone! Taijul dishes out an arm ball around off, Batty gets forward to defend, plays for the spin but to his disappointment it skids with the angle and raps him on the front pad. They appeal and the finger goes up without much delay. Batty takes the DRS but the replays confirm that it's hit him in line and is going on to disturb the leg stump. A Rashid to Kayes, OUT! Big wicket for England! The dangerous Kayes departs. Floated on middle, he goes for the sweep but gets a top edge off the glove that bobbles over Bairstow. Root moves from first slip and takes the catch to perfection. Timely strike for the tourists and it's the one they wanted too as Imrul was looking in great touch.

G Batty to Haque, OUT! Flighted full ball around leg, Haque kneels to sweep but misses. It spins away a bit towards off and strikes him on the pads. They appeal as the ball lobs up to second slip. The umpire shakes his head and after having a chat with his bowler and keeper, Cook takes the DRS. The third umpire first checks for the no ball, it's fine. No edge detected on the Ultra Edge. Now the ball tracking shows that it has pitched on leg and the impact is in line with the stumps. Is it spinning away too much to miss the stumps? No is the answer as the ball is crashing on middle. Batty jumps in joy as the umpire reverses his decision. Mominul is out of here and it's another setback for Bangladesh.

G Batty to Mahmudullah, OUT! A loopy full ball around off, spinning in a bit, Mahmudullah gets forward and across to flick it on the leg side but misses and is pinged on the front pad. They appeal and the finger goes up after a delay. Mahmudullah opts for the DRS and the replays show that it's not a no ball, there is no inside edge and the impact is within line. So where the ball is heading now? Ohhhh... once again it's crashing on middle. Batty has his second wicket. Around the wicket angle as worked for him. Bangladesh going off track. 178 needed for a win!

M Ali to Hasan, OUT! Cracking ball and Moeen has Shakib again! Trademark off spinner's ball this, fizzing away after pitching as Shakib has a tame poke at it. Extra bounce too on offer and the edge is taken superbly by Bairstow behind the stumps. An easy decision for the umpire and Bangladesh have now lost half their side. Huge wicket this for England as Shakib can be really deadly. He falls to Ali for the second time in the match.

G Batty to M Rahim, OUT! GONE! Batty is the man for England! What a time to get the breakthrough. Floated off break on off, spins in sharply with extra bounce to take Rahim totally by surprise. He tries to fend but the ball lobs off the gloves towards short leg. Ballance at forward short leg takes a comfortable catch by stretching to his right. A brilliant stand has come to an end. Looked plumb to the naked eye and up goes the umpire's finger straightaway. Mehedi goes for the review. No bat involved, impact in line and it's hitting leg stump according to Hawk Eye. England just three wickets away now. 52 more needed for Bangladesh.

72.4
S Broad to Rabbi, OUT! Broad has another! England are pumped up! Full and tailing in from around off, Rabbi tries to dig it out as the ball goes off the pads to Ballance at short leg. Easy catch and the appeal is given. There was an inside edge on it and even if there wasn't, it would have been out lbw as it was that plumb. Just 2 wickets away are England now, Bangladesh still need 48 more.
Taijul Islamlbw b Ben Stokes 16 33 2 0 48.48
81.1
Ben Stokes to Islam, OUT! Gone! The English players jump in joy. A review well taken. Stokes angles in a length ball from around off, skidding in and beating the attempted flick shot by Taijul. He is rapped on the pads, they appeal and the batsmen take a couple of runs. The umpire signals for leg byes and immediately Stokes convinces his skipper to take the DRS. The third umpire starts his job. It's not a no ball first up. Now the replay moves away, it's hitting the batsman in line, no edge involved but where is this heading? Looks to be clipping leg. No, it's in fact hitting the leg stump and Taijul has to go. England on the brink now. They need 1 more wicket, Bangladesh need 23 runs.
Shafiul Islamlbw b Ben Stokes 0 2 0 0 0
81.3
Ben Stokes to Islam, OUT! Umpire's call! It indeed is the game. Stokes has once again done it for his team. He dishes out a lovely full delivery outside off and gets it to swerve back in sharply. Shafiul takes his front leg forward but has his bat way back as he looks to defend. But he is thudded on the pads, they appeal and umpire Dharmasena raises his finger. Shafiul takes the referral. The impact looks to be outside off but he has his bat hiding behind the front pad, meaning he wasn't offering any shot. Hence the impact can't be an issue here. But is it curling in enough to hit the stumps, even clipping the stumps will do as the umpire has given it out. Hawk Eye confirms it to be clipping off which means the onfield decision will stay as it is. Heartbreak for Bangladesh. ENGLAND WIN BY 22 RUNS! This is also the narrowest margin of defeat for the hosts in terms of runs which shows they fought very hard in this Test match.
