Sri Lanka

Batting R B 4s 6s SR
Niroshan Dickwella (W)c Quinton de Kock b Andile Phehlukwayo 43 65 5 0 66.15
18.6
A Phehlukwayo to N Dickwella, OUT! Another stand which has been broken immediately after reaching the 50-run mark. Andile Phehlukwayo provides the breakthrough as Dickwella perishes 7 short of a half century. This one is short and outside off, Andile might have bent his back on this one as it skids through. Also it is a little too close to cut. Dickwella still goes for that shot but the ball takes the outside edge and goes to the left of de Kock who completes his second catch.
Upul Tharangac Quinton de Kock b Junior Dala 19 18 3 0 105.56
8.3
J Dala to U Tharanga, OUT! EDGED AND TAKEN! Dala draws first blood, his first wicket in ODI cricket. The change of ends works wonders for him. On a length and around off, this one pitches and then straightens. Tharanga pokes at it and gets an outside edge which goes low towards de Kock who completes a good catch. A much-needed breakthrough for South Africa as Tharanga walks back after a good opening stand.
Kusal Pererac Heinrich Klaasen b Willem Mulder 8 7 1 0 114.29
9.6
W Mulder to K Perera, OUT! DROPPED, NO TAKEN! South Africa get another in quick succession. Perera just can't believe what he has done here. He gets a nothing delivery, short and outside off. He would cut that to the boundary 9 out of the 10 times but this time he hits it uppishly towards the man at covers. Klaasen there drops it on the first attempt but hangs onto it on the second. Mulder pumps his fist in delight as the dangerous Perera walks back cheaply. South Africa end Powerplay 1 on a high and they would now look to apply the breaks on the scoring as well.
Kusal Mendisc Quinton de Kock b Keshav Maharaj 38 43 5 0 88.37
25.2
K Maharaj to K Mendis, OUT! Gone! Keshav Maharaj strikes! Maharaj gives this air outside off, Mendis comes forward to drive it. The ball turns after pitching and takes the outside edge. The keeper moves to his right and takes a good catch. They all go up in unison and the umpire raises his finger. Once again, just as the partnership was building, South Africa strike. Mendis walks back after getting a start.
Angelo Mathews (C)not out 97 97 11 1 100
Dhananjaya de Silvac Reeza Hendricks b Willem Mulder 30 41 1 1 73.17
37.4
W Mulder to de Silva, OUT! In the air... taken! So South Africa continue taking wickets at regular intervals. Mulder gets his second as another Sri Lankan batsman walks back after getting a start. The slowness of the wicket does de Silva in here. Mulder bowls it just ahead of a length on off, Dhananjaya tries to go downtown but the ball stops into the surface. He only manages to hit it up in the air towards mid off where Reeza runs back and to his right, calls mine and takes it. Sri Lanka now have half their side back in the hut. 300 now looks a little farfetched.
Thisara Pererac Hashim Amla b Andile Phehlukwayo 13 15 0 0 86.67
44.5
A Phehlukwayo to T Perera, OUT! Perera holes out trying to increase the scoring rate. Slower full ball outside off, Perera makes room and looks to go over covers but ends up slicing it towards Hashim Amla at point. He takes it with ease and Sri Lanka lose the big-hitting Perera. He could not make much of an impact today and this can surely make a difference of at least 15 runs to the final total.
Dasun Shanakac JP Duminy b Kagiso Rabada 21 15 2 1 140
49.2
K Rabada to D Shanaka, OUT! Rabada gets his first. Slow ball on middle and leg, Shanaka looks to loft it but finds Duminy at long on who makes no mistake. Good cameo from Dasun. They cross and Mathews has a chance to get to his ton.
Akila Dananjayarun out (Aiden Markram) 5 2 1 0 250
49.6
K Rabada to A Mathews, OUT! Mathews doesn't get it. But a very good innings from him. Rabada goes length on middle and leg. Mathews heaves this over mid-wicket and finds Markram in the deep. They take a run. Akila sets off for the second but is sent back by his partner. De Kock does well to take off the bails and Dananjaya is well short. Sri Lanka end on 299/8 after their 50 overs.

S Lakmal to H Amla, OUT! You beauty! What a ball from Lakmal! The perfect start for Sri Lanka. Lands this on a good length around off. The ball moves away a touch after pitching. Amla looks to play it with a straight bat but his feet are all over the place. The ball goes past him and hits the top of off pole.
Quinton de Kock (C) (W)b Akila Dananjaya 54 57 7 1 94.74
17.6
A Dananjaya to de Kock, OUT! BOWLED'EM! Akila gets his fourth. He has done excatly what he was brought into the attack to do. Another brilliant delivery. The googly on off, it pitches and then turns away. De Kock does not account for the spin as he plays inside the line. The ball beats the outside edge and hits the off pole. Dananjaya is ecstatic as de Kock walks back after a good innings.
Aiden Markramc & b Akila Dananjaya 20 13 5 0 153.85
5.4
A Dananjaya to A Markram, OUT! Aiden Markram's woes against spin continues. His return in the team was a breezy one but a short one. Akila bowls a flighted ball on off, it was the leg spinner. Markram tries to drive it down the ground but fails to keep it down. It goes to the left of Akila who takes a good diving catch. He throws it up in the air in joy and Markram walks back dejected. South Africa in trouble now.
Reeza Hendricksb Akila Dananjaya 0 1 0 0 0
5.5
A Dananjaya to R Hendricks, OUT! Timber! It was the leg spinner which got the better of Markram on the previous ball and it is the googly which gets the better of Reeza. Sensational stuff from Akila. He tosses this up on off, Hendricks tries to defend it leaving a gap between bat and pad. The ball sneaks through and hits the off pole. The Lankans are ecstatic as RH bags a golden duck. Akila is on a hat-trick.
Heinrich Klaasenlbw b Akila Dananjaya 3 8 0 0 37.5

A Dananjaya to H Klaasen, OUT! That is as plumb as you can get! Akila Dananjaya is on a roll here. He gets his third and South Africa are in dire straits. The googly on off, Klaasen has no clue on which way the ball is turning. He tries to flick but misses. The ball hits him on the pads. An appeal follows and the umpire is quick to raise his finger. Klaasen has a chat with de Kock but his skipper says, do not even think about taking the review.
JP Duminyc & b Dhananjaya de Silva 12 13 1 0 92.31
15.1
de Silva to JP Duminy, OUT! Caught and bowled! De Silva provides the breakthrough, breaks the 46-run stand. It is the huge wicket of Duminy, the man in form. He walks back cheaply and one would believe the chase is now a huge task. Duminy uses his feet and tries to work it across the line. Never a good idea. He gets a leading edge back to the bowler as it straightens a touch. Dhananjaya takes the simple of catches. Half the side back in the hut and they still need another 215.
Willem Mulderlbw b Lahiru Kumara 2 5 0 0 40
16.4
L Kumara to W Mulder, OUT! Three reds and another one bites the dust. Also, South Africa lose their sole review. Excellent by Kumara, follows the short one with a length ball around middle, this one pitches and comes back in. Mulder tries to defend but misses to get hit on the pads. The players appeal and the umpire raises his finger. Mulder after a chat with his captain goes for the review. Time for the replays, it shows no bat and three reds.
Andile Phehlukwayoc Niroshan Dickwella b Akila Dananjaya 3 14 0 0 21.43

A Dananjaya to A Phehlukwayo, OUT! EDGED AND TAKEN! Guess who is the wicket taker? Akila Dananjaya. He gets a fifer. What a performance by the young lad. He seems to be getting better after each game. Another beauty. Flighted ball on off, this one pitches and then turns away. Andile just like his captain plays inside the line. The ball kisses the outside edge and settles into the mitts of the keeper. He catches it and appeals and the umpire raises his finger. 2 wickets away now are Lanka.
Keshav Maharajc Suranga Lakmal b Akila Dananjaya 8 12 1 0 66.67
23.5
A Dananjaya to K Maharaj, OUT! In the air... taken! 6-fer for Akila. The game keeps getting better for him. These are also the best figures at Colombo for a spinner. He tosses this one up, it is the leg spinner. Maharaj dances down the track does not get to the pitch of it. Still goes ahead with the shot and all he manages to do is hit it up in the air towards mid off where Lakmal takes it.

L Kumara to J Dala, OUT! That's that! South Africa are all out! Kumara lands one short and wide outside off, Dala looks to cut it but finds Dhananjaya at point. He cannot take it on the first attempt but manages to hold on to it. Sri Lanka win by 178 runs.
