David Warnerc Joe Root b Moeen Ali 35 40 5 0 87.5
11.4
M Ali to D Warner, OUT! A wicket against the run of play! Moeen slows this one in the air and lands it full just outside off. He gets some away spin as it touches the turf and Warner tries to drive it through the line. He ends up getting a thick outside edge behind and Joe Root at first slip makes no mistake. Moeen has provided the much-needed breakthrough. A disappointed Warner heads back to the pavilion.
Aaron Finchc Jason Roy b Liam Plunkett 106 114 9 1 92.98
40.1
L Plunkett to A Finch, OUT! Perfect. Following the template to the 'T'. Score quickly in the Mandatory Powerplay, then slow down, jog across to a ton and then throw it away. Aaron Finch does it time and again. Full on middle and off, the intention is correct from Finch, looking to go over the top but perhaps he could have waited an over or two. Marsh was just dismissed. And now Australia have lost 2 in quick succession. Plunkett wraps his fingers around the ball and as a result, it comes on much slower than Finch's anticipation. He is through with his lofted shot pretty early and the ball goes off the inner half of the bat, straight to Jason Roy at mid on. He escaped a similar chance a few overs go when he cleared mid on. Still, for the numbers, a good score by Finch. He has made a century, but might still find his team on the losing side. Meanwhile, PLUNKETT HAS GOT TO 100 ODI WICKETS.
Steven Smith (C)lbw b Joe Root 18 25 0 1 72
19.4
Joe Root to S Smith, OUT! Umpire's call it is! Australia do not lose a review but does it matter? They have lost their best ODI batsman. Full and outside off, Smith comes forward and looks to flick but misses and is hit on the pads. That seems to be out and the umpire agrees, raising the finger slowly. Smith walks over to his partner and after some deliberation, takes the review. Well, Hawk Eye shows the ball to be clipping the top of leg stump which means Smith has to go. Another failure. England on top now, after stifling Australia and picking up two big wickets.
Travis Headc & b Joe Root 7 18 0 0 38.89
23.5
Joe Root to T Head, OUT! Soft dismissal! Head, well, has not quite used his surname on this ball. Perhaps a bit harsh, but then you should not be coming down the wicket if you are not confident of playing spin. Comes down the track and tamely pushes it back to the bowler. A simple catch. Nothing ball, nothing shot. Waste of a wicket and time.
Mitchell Marshst Jos Buttler b Adil Rashid 36 43 3 0 83.72
39.2
A Rashid to M Marsh, OUT! Stumped by a mile. Marsh jumps down the track, perhaps giving the signal in 2017 and Rashid is quick to spot that. Slows the flight, gives it a bit more loop, throws the ball wide outside off and Marsh misses his swing. Buttler does not miss the ball behind and comfortably takes the bails off. Another start not converted by Marsh and this could be dangerous for Australia. They would have wanted him at the crease in the death overs. End of a good stand but not necessarily devastating for England.
Marcus Stoinisc Jos Buttler b Adil Rashid 4 6 0 0 66.67
41.2
A Rashid to M Stoinis, OUT! That is a terrific catch! Jos Buttler dropped a tough one earlier in the day but this is a magnificent take. Tossed up outside off, Stoinis stays leg side of the ball and looks to drive this inside out but the ball turns away just a shade and takes a thin outside edge. Buttler collects it cleanly and does not even bother to whip the bails, as is a normal keeper's habit. He then appeals and up goes the umpire's finger! The Aussies have now lost 3 wickets for 7 runs in the last 13 balls!
Cameron Whitenot out 15 21 0 0 71.43
Alex Carey (W)run out (Chris Woakes) 27 24 4 0 112.5
47.4
C Woakes to C White, OUT! The dive has not saved Carey! That is why you should play other sports as well. Football has helped Woakes in cricket. On a length outside off, White looks to pull but gets a thick inside edge onto his body. Carey calls for the single but has to run around Woakes as the bowler too dashes for the ball. Kicks it onto the stumps and Carey dives. It is referred upstairs but replays show that it is not enough. Australia still in with a shout to get bowled out before the 300th legal ball.
Mitchell Starcc Jason Roy b Chris Woakes 3 6 0 0 50
49.1
C Woakes to M Starc, OUT! Caught this time. And the fielder is Jason Roy. A length ball on middle and leg, Starc backs away and swings it over mid-wicket. Again, he does not have enough on it and finds the fielder at mid-wicket near the fence. Hang on... Roy misjudges it too! However, he adjusts well, running back late and just about taking it near his head.
Andrew Tyerun out (Chris Woakes) 8 4 0 1 200
49.6
C Woakes to A Tye, OUT! A run out to end the innings. A short ball around off, nicely taking the pace off, Tye looks to pull but is cramped for room. gets a bottom edge onto his body and the ball rolls to the leg side. The batsmen go for the single but Woakes quickly gets to the ball, turns around, takes aim and bang. Hits the stumps at the bowler's end. AUSTRALIA END ON 270/9.

M Starc to J Roy, OUT! Just the start the home side would have wanted. Jason Roy, after a match-winning knock in the first match makes his way back to the hut. Starc pitches it full on the legs, Roy tries to flick it away but only manages to give a straightforward catch to Finch at short mid-wicket.
Jonny Bairstowc David Warner b Jhye Richardson 60 56 9 0 107.14
21.3
J Richardson to J Bairstow, OUT! Second for Richardson. He's now dismissed the two set batsmen and given Australia a chance to dig in further. He bowls a length delivery just outside off stump, Bairstow looks to loft it over the cover region. But he does not manage to find the meat of the bat and gives an easy catch to Warner. Bairstow makes his way to the pavilion.
Alex Halesb Jhye Richardson 57 60 7 1 95
19.2
J Richardson to A Hales, OUT! Just the breakthrough Australia needed. Richardson has broken the 117-run partnership. Bowls a back of a length delivery just outside off stump. Hales goes for the cut but inside edges it and the ball hits the timber. Australia are delighted to see Hales back in the hut.
Joe Rootnot out 46 58 1 0 79.31
Eoin Morgan (C)b Mitchell Starc 21 27 2 1 77.78
27.1
M Starc to E Morgan, OUT! Like in the Test series, Starc has changed his boots and picked up a wicket immediately. It's the England skipper who makes the long walk back. Length ball outside off, with some extra bounce. Eoin Morgan hangs his bat in defense but the slight inward movement takes the inside edge, then the back pad and rattles the stumps. Big wicket for Australia, it's come at a vital time too. Morgan is a dangerous player.
Jos Buttler (W)c Alex Carey b Mitchell Starc 42 32 5 0 131.25
37.1
M Starc to Jos Buttler, OUT! Buttler makes his way to the hut. Starc has done it yet again for the Men in Yellow. He bowls a length delivery quick outside off, Buttler goes for the drive but finds the outside edge. Carey bags an easy debut catch behind the wickets. Is there a twist in the tale?
Moeen Alib Mitchell Starc 1 2 0 0 50

M Starc to M Ali, OUT! Ohh Starc, you beauty. The best ball of the match. This was quick and right on the money. He bowls a yorker at 142.2 kph, right in the line of the stumps and Ali had no time to get his bat down on it. A gamble taken by Smith has paid rich dividends as this is Starc's last over. A 4-fer for Starc. Can he pick up his 5th in remaining two balls?
