Hamilton Masakadzac Shane Dowrich b Devendra Bishoo 147 240 16 2 61.25
82.2
D Bishoo to Masakadza, OUT! This is what you get by bowling fuller! A loss of concentration from Masakadza, a bad shot by him. Not wise to go against the spin when the ball is turning. Bishoo again bowls a loopy ball outside off, turning away. Masakadza tries to fetch it and slog sweep it over the leg side but gets a top edge which lobs besides the pitch. Dowrich runs to his left, sets himself under it and takes it. A fighting innings by Hamilton comes to an end. He falls three short of his 150 and walks off to a standing ovation. West Indies have managed to break the 90-run stand and are now back into the game.
Solomon Mirec Shane Dowrich b Kemar Roach 4 12 1 0 33.33
3.6
K Roach to Mire, OUT! Roach draws first blood! Hurls this one on a fuller length in the channel outside off, gets some away swing as well. Mire pokes at it with minimal foot movement and plays away from the body. An outside edge is induced. Dowrich dives full length to his right and takes a good catch. Good bowling from Roach, he set him up well. Bowled good length deliveries earlier and pushed one fuller this time which brought the downfall of the opener. Not good from the opener too, he was starting to get a bit desperate after a string of dots in the over. Anyway, ideal start for the Windies.
Craig Ervineb Shannon Gabriel 0 7 0 0 0
6.2
Gabriel to C Ervine, OUT! Bowled 'em! What a sight for a fast bowler. Roach troubled the southpaw in the previous over from round the wicket angle and Gabriel follows in his footsteps. He goes wider of the crease and angles in a fuller length ball from outside off. Generates prodigious movement after pitching. Ervine is half-forward, leaves a big gap between his bat and pad and the ball zips through the gap to shatter the middle stump. It goes for a walk and the visitors are delighted! Craig departs for a duck. Zimbabwe in some trouble.
Brendan Taylorb Kemar Roach 1 10 0 0 10
9.1
K Roach to Taylor, OUT! The Windies are on fire! This time it is Roach who sends another batsman packing. He steams in and lands it on a fullish length in the zone on apprehension, gets some inward movement off the deck. Taylor is in two minds whether to play at it or leave it alone. He ends up feeling for it and the ball takes the inside edge of the bat to deflect back onto the stumps. Zimbabwe are struggling. The decision to bat first after winning the toss is proving to be wrong.
Peter Moorb Roston Chase 52 155 3 0 33.55
57.6
R Chase to P Moor, OUT! Bowled 'em! It's totally against the run of play! Roston Chase is the one who breaks the 142-run stand! The Windies are relieved at the moment as they have been kept at bay for a long period of time. Chase pushes it quicker through the air, drops it a touch short around off. Moor goes back to defend but this one skids off the surface, beats the outside edge and knocks the off stump. Moor can't believe it but has to walk back after playing a fine innings.
Sikandar Razac Kyle Hope b Shannon Gabriel 80 147 6 1 54.42
104.2
S Gabriel to S Raza, OUT! Gabriel was making the ball talk and he finally reaps the dividends! He steams in and hurls a fuller length ball outside off on a scrambled seam. After pitching, the ball keeps on coming in with the angle. Raza feels for it and gets a thick outside edge towards second slip. Kyle Hope stationed there takes it comfortably. Thankfully, for the Windies, he hasn't overstepped on this occasion. Raza departs after an enterprising knock. He would be disappointed to miss out on a ton.
Malcolm Wallerb Kraigg Brathwaite 0 1 0 0 0
83.1
Brathwaite to M Waller, OUT! Waller bags a golden duck! An off spinner's dream delivery! The move of not taking the second new ball is paying off. Kraigg tosses it up outside off, inviting the batsman to drive. Waller obliges and tries to go through the line but leaves a gap between bat and pad. The ball turns in sharply and goes right between the gap to hit the timber. Two quick wickets for the Windies and they are ecstatic.
Regis Chakabva (W)b Devendra Bishoo 10 25 0 0 40
90.6
D Bishoo to Chakabva, OUT! BOWLED 'EM! 100 Test wickets for Bishoo, he becomes the 5th West Indian spinner to achieve this feat. Good variation from Bishoo! He pushes it quicker through the air, lands it full on middle. Chakabva goes down on one knee and tries to sweep but misses it completely. The ball goes between his legs and disturbs the woodwork behind. Chakabva's struggle comes to an end. Zimbabwe are losing their way now. Bishoo gets his second.
Graeme Cremer (C)run out (Jason Holder) 11 44 0 0 25
108.2
S Gabriel to Cremer, OUT! Bull's eye brings the downfall of Cremer! Full length delivery, Graeme drives it crisply towards mid off and sets off for a run. He takes on the arm of his counterpart, Holder who is very quick to attack the ball. He moves to his left, picks it up cleanly and scores a direct hit at the bowler's end as Cremer tries to get in desperately. It is referred upstairs. The replays find the Zimbabwean skipper short of his crease. He took the longer route to avoid the throw and that proved to be his undoing.
Tendai Chisorolbw b Kemar Roach 9 15 1 0 60
109.1
K Roach to Chisoro, OUT! No inside edge and Chisoro is a goner! Roach comes from around the wicket and bowls a slower ball on a full length on leg stump. Chisoro looks to keep it out but is hit on the boot. The Windies appeal in unison and up goes the umpire's finger. Tendai decides to challenge the decision. Time for the replays. It shows three reds and the debutant is a dead duck. Surprisingly, the Hawk Eye revealed that the ball pitched on leg stump and deviated in to hit the middle stump. Not quite sure how that's possible but in any case, ZIMBABWE ARE BOWLED OUT FOR 326.

Kraigg Brathwaitec Hamilton Masakadza b Graeme Cremer 32 160 2 0 20
46.5
G Cremer to K Brathwaite, OUT! The skipper brings himself back into the attack and strikes straightaway before the end of day's play. Brilliant bowling from him and he gets the reward. Drops this one shorter on off, quicker in pace too and it spins away appreciably. Brathwaite hangs back to keep it out but gets an outside edge. The ball flies towards Masakadza at first slip who bends to take a good catch. The umpires tell Kraigg to wait as they check for the front foot no ball. The replays roll in. It is tight but the bowler gets the benefit of the doubt. The 76-run marathon opening stand comes to an end as it came off 281 balls.
Kieran Powellc Craig Ervine b Chris Mpofu 90 230 7 0 39.13
82.3
C Mpofu to Powell, OUT! Brilliant, brilliant bowling from Mpofu! Finally, Powell runs out of his luck after being dropped thrice by Cremer. Mpofu steams in from around the wicket and bowls a short delivery outside off, coming in with the angle with extra bounce. Powell is taken aback and is caught in a tangle. Tries to fend it away with a hop but gets a thick outside edge towards Craig Ervine at gully. He dives full length to his right and takes a gem of a catch. The umpires check for the side no ball and then the front foot no ball but it is fine. Mpofu is absolutely pumped up. The effort ball works wonders for him. He gets his first wicket of the series. The Windies had cleaned up the opposition with the second new ball yesterday. Can the home side do the same?
Devendra Bishooc & b Sikandar Raza 23 52 1 0 44.23
63.4
Raza to Bishoo, OUT! The resistance from the nightwatchman has come to a close but he has done a decent job for his side. Slow through the air on middle, Bishoo cleans his front leg and goes at it with hard hands. Ends up playing it straight back to Raza who cups it safely. Bishoo was dropped on 20 but it hasn't cost much. The 55-run stand also comes to an end. More importantly, it consumed 101 balls which would have irritated the hosts to no end.
Kyle Hopelbw b Sikandar Raza 1 15 0 0 6.67
69.1
S Raza to Hope, OUT! It was not a wise decision to take the review and the visitors have exhausted one. Since Raza has come into the attack, he has been on the money and is reaping the dividends. Bowls this one slow through the air well outside off, gets substantial inward spin after the ball pitches. Hope hangs deep in the crease and tries to block it but misses to get hit low on the pads. Zimbabwe appeal vociferously and up goes the umpire's finger. Kyle walks across to Powell and consults with him about the review. He goes for it eventually. Time for the replays. They show three reds and the batsman is a dead duck. Good passage of play for the hosts.
Shai Hopeb Sikandar Raza 40 101 5 0 39.6
104.1
S Raza to S Hope, OUT! Sikandara Raza, oh you masterful beauty! 3 wickets in no time and it's the dangerman Shai Hope who's been sent back. Windies in the deep end here now, brilliant from the offie. He changes the angle and comes from around the wicket, flights in on middle. Hope is forward and plays for the turn when there is none. Proves to be his undoing as the ball goes straight on. Takes the off stump with it and that spells the end to Shai Hope's innings. Maiden 5-fer for Sikandar Raza, he's been superb since he's come on to bowl.
Roston Chaselbw b Sikandar Raza 32 45 3 1 71.11
98.3
S Raza to Chase, OUT! HE'S GONE! This is a big wicket and it's Sikandar Raza again who's got the breakthrough! Zimbabwe needed the wicket and he's done it for his side. Chase played his part too, bit of an unnecessary shot to play with the ball turning so much. Landed around off and it spins in a touch, Chase brings out the reverse sweep and does not connect. Is caught on the front pad and after a long hard think, umpire Dharmasena raises his finger in response to the appeal. Roston reviews it almost immediately and replays show the impact is umpire's call and the ball is clipping the leg stump, which is also the umpire's call. So, he has to go back. The review isn't wasted but the decision stays. The 56-run stand has been broken.
Jermaine Blackwoodc Graeme Cremer b Sikandar Raza 5 13 1 0 38.46
100.6
S Raza to Blackwood, OUT! It's Sikandar Raza again, Zimbabwe's He-Man! What a player. Comes in and got two wickets in quick succession. Brings his side right back into this contest. Spinning in around off, Blackwood goes back and works it uppishly on the leg side. Straight into the hands of Graeme Cremer at short mid-wicket who takes a good catch. Throws it in the air and celebrates loudly, he knows this is their opening to get in. Blackwood departs, Windies in some trouble. These are now Raza's best figures in Test match cricket.
Shane Dowrich (W)lbw b Tendai Chisoro 103 232 10 1 44.4
172.6
Chisoro to Dowrich, OUT! Chisoro gets his first Test wicket and he is overwhelmed, not something he will be forgetting soon! He has bowled well and he deserves it. He fires it on leg stump, gets it to straighten. Dowrich tries to sweep but misses to get hit on the front pad. The players appeal and the umpire after giving it a hard thought raises his finger. Dowrich straightaway reviews it. Replays show that there is no inside edge and returns three reds on the Hawk Eye. West Indies also lose a review. Dowrich has to walk back and he does so to a standing ovation by his teammates. He is also being congratulated by the Zimbabwean players. The mammoth 212-run stand has been broken. West Indies now lead by 116.
Jason Holder (C)b Tendai Chisoro 110 198 9 2 55.56
174.6
Chisoro to J Holder, OUT! TIMBER! It took Chisoro almost 39 overs to get him his first Test wicket and now he gets another one! He has got both the centurions in this innings. He comes over the wicket and lands it outside leg stump, gets it to turn into the batsman. Holder tries to paddle it but misses and the ball knocks the leg stump apart. A brilliant, brilliant knock by Holder comes to an end. Well played, Jason! Zimbabwe too show great gesture as they shake his hand as he walks off. The Windies lead by 117 runs.
Kemar Roachlbw b Tendai Chisoro 0 18 0 0 0
178.2
Chisoro to Roach, OUT! THE WINDIES HAVE BEEN BOWLED OUT FOR 448 AND THEY LEAD BY 122! Chisoro fires in an arm ball on off, Roach plays for the turn but there isn't any. He tries to defend the ball with the bat close to his pads and there is confusion whether it hit the pad first or the bat. The bowler makes a huge appeal and after a while the umpire raises his finger. Roach thinks about a review but there are none left. Replays show that it had brushed the pad before it hit the bat.

3.3
K Roach to Masakadza, OUT! KABOOM! What a delivery. Really cannot blame Masakadza entirely there. At the most, one can say a slight error in judgement. This reminds me of the way Suranga Lakmal cleaned up Shane Watson in a Test match in Kandy in 2011. Cricket is a great leveler. A century in the first innings but Masakadza departs cheaply in the second. Brilliant from Kemar, he goes wide of the crease and angles it in from outside off. Hamilton plants his front foot forward and lets it be. Ideally, it is not his mistake. The ball should not come in that much. But it does. It goes past the giant right foot of the big man and cannons into the off pole. Rattle. He might have left it on length. He might have left it on line. Neither judgement was criminal. So good was the ball. Take a bow, Kemar. An early wicket for the Windies and a big one. Zimbabwe still trail by another 117.
Solomon Mirelbw b Kemar Roach 0 10 0 0 0
5.3
K Roach to Mire, OUT! Another wicket, just at the stroke of lunch! Mire is the man who is walking back and Zimbabwe are in big trouble now. Totally not needed from him as this was the last over before the break. They have also lost a review. Kemar Roach is breathing fire here. He lands it on a length around off, the ball skids off the surface. Mire goes for the pull, but the ball isn't short enough. It sneaks through and hits him on the pads. The players appeal and the umpire gives it out. Mire walks up to his partner and after a chat decides to review. Snicko shows there is no bat involved and it is crashing into the leg stump. Roach is all pumped up and that will be LUNCH ON DAY 4!
Craig Ervineb Devendra Bishoo 22 57 3 0 38.6
22.2
Bishoo to C Ervine, OUT! The bowling change has worked wonders! If the pacers can, even I can, says Bishoo! Turn, bounce and he gets the wicket. A loopy ball outside off, turns back in sharply and also bounces a touch more. Ervine goes back and tries to keep it out. He leaves a gap between bat and pad in doing so. The ball sneaks through and hits the off pole. He should have come forward there. Zimbabwe are in dire straits now. They still trail by 76 runs.
Brendan Taylorlbw b Shannon Gabriel 10 32 1 0 31.25
14.6
S Gabriel to Taylor, OUT! Gabriel strikes! He has bowled an extended spell, he is into his seventh consecutive over. He has kept attacking the stumps and gets his reward at last. Gabriel bowls it on a length around off, stays a touch low and also jags back in. Taylor from within the crease tries to defend but is beaten for pace and is hit on the pads. The players appeal and the umpire raises his finger. Taylor straightaway walks away as he knew he was a dead duck. Gabriel is all pumped as he gets his first. Taylor always looked in trouble with the incoming deliveries. Zimbabwe in tatters.
Peter Moorc Shai Hope b Shannon Gabriel 42 164 2 0 25.61
68.5
S Gabriel to Moor, OUT! What a start for West Indies, just what they needed. They are all pumped up and why not! Good awareness from Holder. He knew that the batsman has been playing well through that region. So, he placed the gully a bit inside and himself stood a bit wide in the first slip area. Coming back to the delivery, it is on a good length in the zone of apprehension and straightening after pitching. Moor hangs his bat out and looks to guide it behind point but gets it off the outer half. Shai Hope is sharp as a hawk in the gully region and quickly stretches his hands out to take a very good catch. A sensible knock from Peter comes to an end but he will be disappointed with himself. Thankfully for the Windies, Gabriel didn't overstep. That's the end of the brilliant 98-run stand. Half the Zimbabwe side back in the hut.
Sikandar Razab Jason Holder 89 203 6 1 43.84
95.2
J Holder to Raza, OUT! Holder strikes! An inspired wicket this. Didn't think that he should have been the one to bowl with the second new ball ahead of Roach but the skipper has done so and has struck to pick up his first wicket in this game. Holder bowls it on a length outside off, the ball nips back in. Raza takes a stride forward to defend but fails to account for the movement. The ball also stays low and breaches the defense to knock the off stump out. Sikandar Raza will not get a hundred that he deserved. He has really played wonderfully well here. This was a fighting knock and the hosts are in a position they are in only because of this guy. Zimbabwe lead by 88. Is this the opening that the tourists wanted?
Malcolm Wallerc Jermaine Blackwood b Devendra Bishoo 15 43 1 0 34.88
80.4
D Bishoo to Waller, OUT! West Indies are right on top! The plan to bowl from around the wicket works wonders for Bishoo. Credit to him for executing the plan nicely as well. Bowls this one on a flatter trajectory around leg stump, going away with the angle. Waller hangs deep in the crease and pokes at it but gets an outside edge. Jermaine Blackwood at widish first slip is alert and takes a smart catch. Waller fails once again. Zimbabwe are effectively 50/6 now.
