Born on 14 March 1963, Bruce Reid showed great promise as a left-arm fast bowler when he first played for Australia. At 6’8", Reid was a towering figure who took very little time to become Australia’s strike bowler. Unfortunately for him and his country, he could not last long at the highest level as his fragile body caved in because of the recurring back injuries that forced him out of the game at the age of 29.
