If there is anyone who is grossly underrated in the current West Indies cricket setup, it is Darren Sammy. With growing disputes between the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) and the players over contractual issues, West Indies cricket was on the verge of sinking to its lowest ebb. At such a time, the board turned to Sammy who proved to be an able lifeguard. In only his third year at the international level, Sammy was handed the responsibility of leading the side out of the shambles.
