Alastair Cook, Jos Buttler disappointed after England’s loss to Sri Lanka in the 4th ODI at Lord’s
June 1, 2014
Skipper Alastair Cook and Jos Buttler talk after the fourth ODI at Lord’s. Buttler came in at a time where England were 111 for five and needed 189 runs in 21 overs. He took the task to himself and scored a splendid 121 runs off just 74 balls to bring England close. But he could not take them over the line and seal the series.
Sri Lanka scored 300 thanks to Kumar Sangakkara’s brilliant ton. Even though Sangakkara was their major contributor, it is Lasith Malinga who should be given the credits for his excellent death bowling. Buttler was awarded the Man of the Match after his brilliant knock for England even though he ended up on the losing side.
