Mahela Jayawardene chats to the press after Sri Lanka's loss to Australia in the final Test at the SCG.

Jayawardene rues his side's missed opportunity to register their first Test win in Australia as the home side wrapped up a whitewash

Jayawardene feels that his side fought well in the final Test after a demoralising defeat in the second Test, but gives credit to Australia for putting up an allround effort that Sri Lanka couldn't match.

He feels that the likes of Dimut Karunaratne, Lahiru Thirimmane and Dinesh Chandimal have done well to grab the opportunity of representing Sri Lanka in Tests. He spoke about their importance to Sri Lankan cricket in the future.

He said that it was a collective failure as a team that was responsible for their 3-0 defeat to Australia.
