Recently retired South African skipper Graeme Smith says that there was unity in diversity in the Proteas squad and mentioned that he had a memorable time skippering the side during his 11 years of captaining the side.
Stating that he will be a big supporter of the team for the rest of his life, Smith also said that he would cherish the relationships he has developed within this team, adding that a strong team culture and diversity has been their strength and has helped them earn many victories around the world.
Smith who will forever be remembered for his 277 and 259 at Edgbaston and Lords respectively during the 2003 tour in England also thanked his team-mates for supporting him throughout his captaincy period and said that he will always have cherished memories of playing for South Africa.
