South Africa‘s Hashim Amla has said that his side were still ‘mere mortals’ despite the 231-run thrashing of Australia in the second Test match at Port Elizabeth and said that they will try to take the momentum come the third test match at Cape Town.

Amla completed his 21st Test century — and his fifth against Australia — and finished on 127 not out when Smith declared at 270 for five.

South Africa added 78 runs in 17 overs on Sunday.

Amla also said that he does not want to get carried away despite the comprehensive nature of the win and maintained that South Africa still had work to do ahead of the third Test match against Michael Clarke’s side.
