A decent bowling performance by the Indians and some good fielding restricted the Sri Lankans to a modest score of 233 runs at the loss of eight wickets in the 2nd ODI of the CB series at the WACA.
Ravichandran Ashwin was the pick of the Indian bowlers with three wickets at the cost of 32 runs, while Zaheer Khan bagged two for 44. Dinesh Chandimal was the top scorer for Sri Lanka with 64 while Tillakaratne Dilshan made 48.
Indian spinners Ravindra Jadeja (1 for 41) and Ravichandran Ashwin (3 for 32) squeezed the runs dry while returning left-arm paceman Zaheer Khan was brilliant upfront with two crucial wickets after Sri Lanka elected to bat at the WACA Ground.
Zaheer began with the scalp of opener Upul Tharanga (4) in his second over and then returned midway to send back Kumar Sangakkara (26) to finish with two for 44 from his allotted 10 overs.
