India needs to win series in New Zealand to consolidate No 1 ODI spot
India‘s number 1 rank continues to be a threat in every series that will be played from here on and the five match New Zealand series, that kicks off in Napier remains the same.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni will lead India for the first time in 2014 albeit with some new faces like Stuart Binny and Varun Aaron. The usual suspects like Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan will be playing their first ever series in New Zealand.
If India lose the series, England or Australia are expected to take their place while New Zealand, with their raw and powerful pace pace battery will look to push the kiwis higher up the table.
