India vs Australia CB Series seventh ODI in Brisbane: Australia innings highlights

A video of Australia's innings during the CB Series seventh ODI against India in Brisbane

Half-centuries by Michael Hussey and Peter Forrest helped Australia reach 288 for 5 in 50 overs against India in the seventh CB Series ODI match at the Gabba in Brisbane on Sunday.

Hussey (59) and Forrest (52) stitched a century-run stand to rescue Australia after India had them on the back foot with quick wickets.

Irfan Pathan struck to dismiss the duo in the same over which saw a shift in momentum as tried to wrestle back the initiative.

David Hussey and Dan Christian provide the late surge in the final over to propel Australia to a healthy score.

Christian showed special liking for Vinay Kumar, who was hit for four consecutive boundaries in the 49th over which yielded 18 runs

Irfan was the pick of the bowlers for India with figures of 3 for 61.

Earlier, Openers got Australia to a steady start with David Warner and Mathew Wade putting up a 70 run partnership for the first wicket.

Irfan made the first breakthrough for India when he had Warner (43) caught by Sachin Tendulkar.

Zaheer Khan then struck to send back out-of-form Ricky Ponting for seven just before the 20th over.

Wade and Peter Forest then joined forces as they got down to rebuilding the Australian innings.

Ponting won the toss and elected to bat in the tri-series ODI against India on Sunday.

Australia made one change to the squad. Pacer Clint McKay is out with an illness, making way for Ben Hilfenhaus in the playing XI.

For India, opener Virender Sehwag's problematic back continues to keep him out while pacer Zaheer Khan comes in for off-spinner R Ashwin.

India are currently leading the table with 10 points from four matches. Australia have nine from four while Sri Lanka has seven from as many games.
