VVS Laxman praised India skipper Virat Kohli and wicketkeeper batsman Wriddhiman Saha for their fantastic innings against Bangladesh. Kohli scored 204, his fourth double-century in as many consecutive series and also of his career while Saha scored unbeaten 106, hi second Test century to propel India to a mammoth total of 687 for 6 on Day Two in the only Test against Bangladesh at Hyderabad. Laxman was effusive about Kohli for the grit, determination and focus which the India skipper displayed in this innings. Laxman also lauded Saha for scoring ton in his comeback game having missed a couple of games against England due to injury. Apart from Kohli and Saha, Laxman also appreciated Mehedi Hasan despite rest of the Bangladesh bowling attack lacking aggressive intent.

Moreover, Laxman has asked the Indian side to not get carried away or complacent with the momentum they have earned at stumps on Day Two. Despite getting the wicket of Soumya Sarkar (15), Laxman has urged the Indian bowling department to keep getting wickets, especially the spin duo of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja
