Mumbai Indians have claimed the top spot in the Indian Premier League (IPL) points table with a 14-run victory over Rajasthan Royals at the Wankhede Stadium.

Mumbai Indians scored 166 for eight courtesy of Aditya Tare’s maiden half-century (59 off 37 deliveries). Glenn Maxwell kick-started the innings by hitting three sixes in his 17-ball 22 run cameo. Rohit and Pollard had a solid base to launch the late order surge. Pollard got into his elements when he hit Tambe for a straight six over the bowler’s head. Rohit was dismissed in the 16th over when he top-edged Faulkner and the ball soared high which was pouched safely by Watson.

Mumbai Indians scored only 27 off the last four overs. But in the end Tare's half-century proved to be the difference between the two sides in the final analysis.
