Former Australian batsman Mark Waugh was inducted in Cricket Australia’s Hall of Fame along with World Cup winning Australian Women’s Captain Belinda Clark.

Mark joins his brother Steve in the Hall of Fame at the Allan Border Medal awards night on Monday in Sydney. Clark will become the first women’s cricketer to be inducted.

“It’s a great honour,” Waugh said as reported by the Sydney Morning Herald. “There are some legends there and to join Steve will be something special. We are the first set of twins to make it and maybe the last.”

Clark said this was indication that the women’s game was on the rise.

“I’m very humbled to be the first female inducted,” Clark said. “It shows the progress we have made with the women’s game and I’m sure I won’t be the last.”
